John Owen Lowe as Jackson Dragon is playing the straight man to his real life dad Rob Lowe who plays Ellis Dragon.
The problem is that Lowe is not noted for his comedy despite doing shows like Parks and Recreation.
Ellis is a billionaire owner of a biotech firm who is getting over the death of his wife. He has returned to work but Ellis might not be ready. His behaviour is erratic such as being naked in his office.
This puts Ellis at risk of being ousted by the board of directors, they have already got a therapist to give a report on Ellis.
At the risk of losing the chance to develop his tech projects. His chief officer Anna (Sian Clifford) wants him to reconcile with his son Jackson. He is less interested in the corporate world and wants to be a flautist.
Co-written by father and son. It is less of a comedy and more the dreaded dramedy. It means it can get away with the lack of laughs by being maudlin.
The opening episode did not have me intrigued or wanted me to watch more.
