Excellent short-the BEST at Sundance 2012!!

This short film carries the viewer through a myriad of emotions. I was taken aback and yet laughed in different parts. The Short closes most loopholes of logical sequence, yet left room for interpretive discussion after wards over our expensive wine in Park City. (Where did the three come from? How was it that they came upon the group of people?) The camera work was beautiful, and paid attention to details such as keeping the vehicle on the horizon to keep the audience waiting for the reveal. Makeup and costuming made the film look "Braveheart"-ish. The actors, especially the three warriors, were wonderfully in character and made me wonder what was coming next. Great camera effects, too! Our entire group left smiling, after staying to watch the credits to see where this film was born!!!

Warning: Spoilers
"Tumult" is a short film from 3 years ago that managed to score a BAFTA nomination. It was written and directed by Johnny Barrington and runs for roughly 14 minutes. The core of the film is what happens when a group of Icelandic natives runs into a bus full of tourists. Initially, I thought this would be set a couple 100 years ago, but nope, it's set in the present. To me, this is mostly a comedy movie, obviously with very dark humor at times. The moment when the group sees the bus and the people inside the bus look at the group was very funny I thought. Unfortunately, right afterward, it turns into a bit of a slasher film (even if the Sally Hawkins lookalike survives) and this is when the film loses its grip a bit for me. The final scenes and the ending weren't too interesting either. All in all, not recommended.
