Such a fun and refreshing episode
Ryswag25 August 2022
The show definitely hasn't grown the least bit stale but it was fun to see them experiment with a concept like this.

Every character was on point tonight and it was great to see Lazlo finally get the spotlight for once. His lack of a presence this year has been the one flaw in an otherwise great season.

I won't spoil anything but the ending is peak classic WWDITS shenanigans at it's best.

This will probably be a strong contender for my favorite episode in this really solid season.

Can't stand the Sklar Brothers, but also can't say this wasn't a great episode of the show. Funny premise and glad they kept the show for almost the entire episode. Plenty of great Laszlo lines too.

The writers are so good to made an entertaining episode like this, It was ok in the beginning, but they know what they're doing -with that hat-.. it was a good move to keep the show running well.

This episode was so great , just the way it was edited to make it seem like we were watching an episode of go flip yourself was so funny and how laslo was labelled as a super fan was so funny, he had some great lines. I love how guillermo tricked them into getting a bigger room lmao , also the plotwist was so great i didn't see it coming at all, 10/10 episode i recommend, idk what some ppl in the reviews r on abt.

I would've liked a guillermo and nandor moment bc every other season ep 8 has had a turning point or something but anyway the ep was too tier anyway

amazing delivery of lines as well especially nadja it's so funny.

Very Creative
Hitchcoc9 November 2022
The writers and actors captured the home improvement genre perfectly. When a TV host and his partner come to the vampire house, they announce that they are going to redo the entire place. They go through, room by room, and show what a beautiful place it will be. There is a slightly weak ending, but it is done so well with maximum enthusiasm from all the principles. It takes a while to get Nadja on board, but she is finally taken convinced. I liked the whole idea of the man cave and it's ultimate use. Nandor's wife will be his curse since he used his last wish to make her agreeable. One of the most creative episodes.

HILARIOUS

I've never seen an episode of Property Brothers, but I have seen enough HGTV to still make this entertaining. I lost it when Lazlo appeared in the flannel and jeans but still wearing his signature neck scarf. The Sklar bothers did a phenomenal job of channeling home reno show host personality with the "fun" banter that they just love to throw in that is obviously scripted but played off as natural. Had I not seen the thumbnail on this very site, I would have been quite surprised for the annual Nick Kroll appearance, but as soon as I saw the hat I knew something was up, and it was great. And lastly, the "wickedly talented Adele Dazeem" was an epic little Idina shoutout that managed to reference 2 musicals and an old Oscars joke all in one gag. LOVED IT!

an overused premise but it works

Warning: Spoilers
Does every show need to have some kind of obligatory "making fun of another genre" episode? They sure nailed all the silly aspects of reality TV, but it seems like a too-easy target. However the notion that Lazlo, stuck at home with just baby Colin for a year, would become a home improvement junky, is cute. And this episode really does make their dreadful house a character in the story.

I admit, I laughed out loud to see the virtual makeover turn the place into an awful generic white museum. Made me appreciate the tree through the ceiling. And of course the unexpected twist with Simon was the perfect capper. One of the better episodes in a pretty uneven season.

Boring, awful and unfunny
hallenbeck327 August 2022
This episode is the only one so far that I didn't find funny. It was so boring I almost just turned it off. I can't imagine how this episode got made.

The episode wasn't funny in pretty much any way. The premise was silly and not in the usual entertaining way. None of the characters really go to interact and carry the show how they normally do.

Just an boring episode, so slow and lack luster. I was watching it without ads on Hulu and had to restriain myself over and over from hitting fast forward 10 seconds.

The ending was ridiculous and so anticlimatic. Also quite a few characters weren't even really shown or used in this episode like usual. Just why?
