Maniac clone without much interest
Leofwine_draca6 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I AM BAD is an indie clone of the MANIAC films, shot from the point of view perspective of a serial killer with a penchant for killing women. However, there's much less in the way of horror than in those controversial movies, and indeed this isn't explicit at all. Like most indies, it focuses on character work to see it through, so you get lots of screen-facing interviews and even some romance here and there. The protagonist suffers from being a self-centred bore and the sight of attractive women being menaced just isn't enough to make the film work.

Super-creative and interesting

A friend of mine saw this at a film festival and recommended it. It was all from the point of view of the serial killer. But it was funny and visually creative. Also, the music was great. I thought the songs were normal songs, but at some point I realized they were all original, and commented on what was happening. The score is by Harry Gregson-Williams, too! A lot of the acting was great, especially the girl in the wheelchair halfway through the movie. And the singer Taylor Dayne was hilarious. Very different and smart!

Wild and creative

Great acting. Really cool concept. Not like anything else. Great imagination. It wasn't what I was expecting, but much more interesting. Scary, but not too scary. I wish more movies were creative like this. My favorite scenes were the crazy lady who used a wheelchair, and the big ending chase around the house. It was sort of like a normal slasher movie ending, but from the POV of the main guy. And it was surprising! And I even cried a tiny little bit at the end. Also, the music was bonkers good. Both the songs and the score. I wish they put out an album. This is much more of an art kind of movie than I thought, but still scary!

Cool movie

Warning: Spoilers
Abbey from NCIS is in it. It's cool, because it looks like you're the killer, looking through his eyes. My favorite scene is when he's in that bar and ties the people up. Also where the drug dealer lady is trying to be nice to him. And you can hear him talking, but you can't see his face. Not like a normal regular movie. Cool movie.
