Hallmark is heading to Europe in June for some tasty romcoms that are all food related. What is not to like about eating your way through Malta with Andrew Walker, sampling cheese in Paris with One Tree Hill alum Bethany Joy Lenz, starting a restaurant in Greece with Danielle C. Ryan, or savoring some gelato in Italy with Young And The Restless alum Hunter King?
On the other hand, a new June Hallmark Mystery takes place in Detroit, Rock City. In Tipline Mysteries: Dial 1 For Murder, Holland Roden is a sleuth, while When Calls The Heart heartthrob Chris McNally seems to be channeling his inner Pacino as a police detective.
Here are all the movies to look forward to seeing in the month of June.

The Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox is home to a variety of unique horror content, from originals and exclusives to cult classics and documentaries. With such a rapidly-growing library, there are many hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Here are five recommendations you can stream on Screambox right now.
Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary
If bustin’ makes you feel good, Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary should be at the top of your queue. Imagine Sam Raimi remaking Ghostbusters from a Kevin Williamson script, and you have a pretty good idea of what this Brazilian horror-comedy is like: gory, self-aware, irreverent, and wildly entertaining.
When a local high school summons Bloody Mary, the Ghoulbusters — a team of local YouTubers with a cheesy ghost hunting show — are called in to take out the vengeful spirit. In addition to possessing people to the point of cranial combustion, the ghost exploits the high school setting by haunting inanimate objects,...

Studiocanal launched a brand new official podcast – and the host might just be familiar to Film Stories listeners.
This is a bit of an odd story for me to write. Basically, well, because I’m in it. I’ll see how I get on.
The rather fine folks at Studiocanal have launched an official podcast, digging into the huge archive of movies under its stewardship. It’s arriving regularly, and as well as focusing on a movie of the month, there’s a broader exploration of other bits and bobs too.
Don’t take our word for it. Here’s Jamie McHale, the head of theatrical marketing at the studio: “We’re thrilled to be launching an official podcast to celebrate our incredible library of titles and upcoming theatrical releases. The in-depth analysis and regular features such as “Dream Double Bills” and “Hidden Gems” from Simon and his guests are...

The Call of Duty franchise has continued the yearly release schedule for nearly two decades now. With indications that Call of Duty: Black Ops II might make its way to Xbox Game Pass, fans have started to look back on the series.
Notably, on the Call of Duty titles from 2013 to 2015. Some fans believe this is where the franchise started to take its dive and was no longer the hot multiplayer shooter every year. In retrospect, are these fans correct?
Call of Duty Oldies – Hidden Gems or Still Terrible? Was Call of Duty: Ghosts better than you remember it?
After the release of Black Ops II in 2012, Infinity Ward was tasked with creating the next Call of Duty. In addition, they had to develop it for the upcoming generation of consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Despite critical reception being overall positive, Call of Duty: Ghosts did not live up to the fan base.

It's been an interesting year for Hallmark with the premieres of The Way Home and Ride and countless feel-good movies.
Despite initially touting Ride as a success story, the cabler has quietly opted to part ways with the rodeo family drama.
Ride tells the story of a multigenerational family ensemble and follows the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation, as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat.
"After a tragic loss, each character embarks on an empowering journey of transformation and self-discovery while also uncovering a twisted web of secrets, threatening to tear the family and their small Colorado town apart at the seams," Hallmark teased in anticipation of the series debut.
Ride also had a decent cast that came from TV Fanatic fan-favorite series, so there was every indication it would be a success story.

Hallmark Channel has gone country. The network’s new rodeo-focused drama Ride is airing on Sunday nights. The show follows the McMurrays, a Colorado ranching family. They are fighting to hold on to their land while also moving forward after the shocking death of one of their own.
The Ride cast includes Nancy Travis as family matriarch Isabel McMurray, Tiera Skovbye as Isabel’s widowed daughter-in-law Missy, and Beau Mirchoff as her second son, Cash.

Austin (Marcus Rosner), the eldest McMurray son, is a big-time rodeo star, and Cash has always felt somewhat overshadowed by his older sibling. He joins the Marines to make his own way in the world, but in the Ride series premiere, he returns home to Colorado after having spent several years away.

It’s of course common to overlook the Slamdance Film Festival, which boldly (nobly?) runs concurrent with a better-known, phonetically similar exhibition, but in doing so one misses independent cinema of a purer expression. Case in point: last year’s top winner, Hannah Ha Ha, was produced on a shoestring budget and with nary a recognizable face, yet never at the expense of dramatic value or formal skill. Would it have been noticed without Slamdance’s top prize? It’s hard to imagine otherwise, and–considering the many merits–truly a shame to even consider.
This is a feature debut for Jordan Tetewsky and Joshua Pikovsky, whose finely tuned shorts work we’ve called “equally reminiscent of early Mike Leigh, Richard Linklater, and a less-preening Alex Ross Perry.” The same applies for Hannah Ha Ha, which (not for nothing) engendered one of the funniest interviews we’ve done in some time.

Venice Film Festival chief Alberto Barbera revealed a typically intriguing lineup today, full of potential fireworks and serious cinema. From Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu’s “personal and ambitious” Bardo to Netflix’s much-discussed Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde, there are buzz titles on offer and plenty of talking points. The lineup also offered up some interesting deviations from previous editions. Below, we discuss the selection with Barbera, who cultivated the lineup with his team over a nine-month span.
Deadline: This is a great-looking lineup. Rich and serious. How are you feeling about it?
Alberto Barbera: I’m very happy. It was a challenging and long process. We started to watch films last November. Of course, there were films that aren’t completed and we couldn’t get, but most of the films I wanted to see I could and many of those are here in the selection. There is great diversity in the lineup,...
