- Tyrion investigates a secret weapon that King Joffrey plans to use against Stannis. Meanwhile, as a token for saving his life, Jaqen H'ghar offers to kill three people that Arya chooses.
- Catelyn and Renly come to an agreement and he agrees to join forces with Robb but witchcraft intervenes forcing her to flee with Brienne. As Stannis' fleet approaches Renly's camp, Petyr Baelish has advice for Margaery and her brother. At King's Landing, Cersei assures Tyrion that siege preparations are well under way and he learns the specifics from Lancel. In the Iron Islands Theon sets sail though has some difficulty gaining his crew's respect. Arya makes a deal with Jaqen H'ghar who promises her three lives in return for her having saved his. North of the Wall the Watchmen arrive at their camp. In Qarth, Daxos has gifts for Daenarys and has a proposition for her: access to his untold riches - and the Iron Throne - if he marries her. - Catelyn and Renly agree to join their armies but out of the blue, he is assassinated by the shadow creature in front of Catelyn and Brienne who are forced to flee from the camp. Renly's army joins Stannis's army and Tyrion foresees an attack on Cersei, who is not worried. Tyrion forces Lancel to tell him what she is plotting and he tells that she had contacts with the alchemists. Tyrion learns that they have thousands of pots of the dangerous flammable Wildfire for the protection of the King's Landing. Arya stumbles with Jaqen that is now a guard and he promises three deaths for her because she saved his and two other prisoners lives and she asks the torturer Tickle. - King Renly's pact with Catelyn to join Robb's forces fails as the red witch's black magic kills him and guards, forcing her to flee with Brienne. Queen-widow Margaery Tyrell convinces her brother, royal lover-guard Loren, to flee into safety to take revenge later. Renly's troops join Stannis's for an attack on King's landing. There Tyrion learns from spy Lancel that regent Cersei counts for the defense on alchemists' flammable 'wildfire', which he deems insufficient. Raid captain Theon finds his disrespecting crew the leftover of his sister's 30 ships, yet his boatswain proves valuable. In castle Harrenhal, mysterious Jaqen H'ghar, one of three prisoners Arya saved from the Gold Cloaks, rewards her with a promise to kill three enemies of her choice- she starts with Lannister torturer Tickler. In Qarth, co-regent Xaro Xhoan Daxos offers Daenarys immense riches if she marries him, enough to gain the Iron Throne.—KGF Vissers
- At Harrenhal, Jaqen H'ghar, one of three caged prisoners Arya previously saved, pledges to kill any three people she chooses to repay his debt to her. Her first choice is the Tickler, the man who mortally tortures the captives. Renly is killed by Melisandre's shadowy assassin. Lady Brienne is accused of the murder and Catelyn forces her to flee the camp. Excluding the Tyrells, Renly's forces join Stannis. Brienne swears life-long fealty to Catelyn and will protect her daughters. Theon sails from Pyke, and against Yara's orders, intends to prove he is a true Ironborn by capturing Winterfell during Robb's absence. Lancel tells Tyrion about wildfire, a mass-produced explosive substance hidden in the city's dungeons and intended to destroy Stannis' fleet and army during the impending siege. Tyrion then takes control of the scheme. In the north, the Night's Watch arrives at an ancient fortress called the Fist of the First Men. Jeor Mormont allows Jon to join the team led by a veteran named Halfhand, to kill the enemy leader. In Qarth, Daxos proposes marriage to Daenerys in exchange for providing her his wealth to conquer the Seven Kingdoms. Ser Jorah convinces her to instead gain the Westerosi peoples' support.

Catelyn tries to get Renly's support by promising that Robb has no interest in the Iron Throne. Renly agrees to allow Robb be King of the North, if he pledges fealty to Renly (the same oath that Ned swore to RObert 17 yrs ago) Renly promises to destroy Stannis's army the next day. Catelyn wants Renly to negotiate a peace with Stannis, but Renly refuses bluntly. Thats the night when Stannis unleashes the daemon from Melisandre's womb, who enters Renly's camp & kills him. After Renly's death at the hands of Melisandre's shadowy assassin, Catelyn and Brienne, who are accused of the murder (since they were in the room with Renly when the daemon attacks Renly), are forced to flee from the camp. Excluding the Tyrells (Loras and Margaery), Renly's forces submit to Stannis. Petyr advises Loras and Margaery to flee, so that they can avenge Renly's death at a more opportune time. Margaery & Loras travel to Highgarden (the House of Tyrell) with Petyr.
Brienne swears loyalty to Catelyn. Catelyn's plan is to warn Robb of Stannis's plans and then return to Winterfell. Brienne only wants that when the time comes Catelyn will allow her to kill Stannis. Catelyn agrees. Davos tries to tell Stannis about the horror that emerged from Melisandre's womb, but he would have none of it. Davos says that if Stannis takes King's landing with Melisandre at his side, it will be considered her victory and not his. Davos says men believe that she whispers in Stannis's ears and he obeys. Stannis agrees to leave Melisandre behind.
Theon sails from Pyke prepared to prove that he is a true Ironborn, with plans to capture Winterfell while Robb is absent. Balon had given 30 ships to Yarra to attack Winterfell and only 1 ship to Theon to attack the villages on the coast of Northern lands and pillage their produce. Theon makes a cunning plan to attack a village close to Winterfell and then attack Winterfell when the forces leave Winterfell to repel the attack at the village. As Theon attacks the village, Bran sends a party of 200 led by Commander Rickon to repel the attack. They thinks its a raiding party of the Lannisters.
Tywin is tired of Robb winning battles and solidifying his position as King of The North. Arya is now the maid to Tywin, and listens to all his conversations with his commanders.
Tyrion knows that Stannis now has a bigger army than the Lannisters at both land and sea. Tyrion learns from Lancel about the wildfire, a burning substance mass produced to destroy Stannis' fleet and army during the upcoming siege. The jars are put in catapults and flung at the enemy ships. Tyrion takes control of the scheme. He takes control of the armory that stores the 7811 vials of wildfire produced at Cersei's command to lay Stannis's fleet low. Bronn is not convinced as he knows that Stannis would be attacking their positions and even a single jar exploding inside the castle itself would ignite the whole lot and cause devastation to their own forces. Plus all the good catapult operators are with Tywin.
The Night's Watch arrives at an ancient fortress called the Fist of the First Men, where Jeor allows Jon to join the team led by a veteran named Qhorin Halfhand (Simon Armstrong), in order to kill the enemy leader Mance Rayder. Mance has gathered all the wild-lings and is ready to make his move. Sam knows that one blast of the horn means returning rangers, 2 blasts means wild-lings, and 3 blasts mean white walkers. He read it in a book.
Daenerys meets Prat Pree (Ian Hanmore) who claims to be from the house of the Undead, and intrigues her. But Daxos leads her away. In Qarth, Daxos proposes marriage to Daenerys in exchange for providing her with the wealth to conquer the Seven Kingdoms. Daenerys says she wants to annex the seven kingdoms as they are hers by right. Daxos tells her that Robert is dead. The Starks fight the Lannisters and the Baratheons fight amongst themselves (Renly and Stannis). The time to strike is now. Jorah (Iain Glen) convinces her to gain the support of the Westerosi people instead as he believes Daxos is simply using her. Jorah wants to see her on the Iron Throne, as she has a gentle heart. She will be loved as a ruler. Jorah promises to find her a good ship to take her to Westeros.
