Missing Clone Wars Episode... 'Perfect' Indeed
alexbigaliy26 October 2022
Wow it is great to be in the Clone Wars era! 'Practice Makes Perfect' is visually solid and does exactly what it is supposed to: it is a missing 'The Clone Wars' episode for the clone wars fans! It is immediately obvious the training scenes parallel scenes from the epic final arc of 'The Clone Wars', during order 66, and while this is not necessarily necessary, seeing the backstory is interesting and thoroughly entertaining. Through this episode I was thinking of putting it at an 8/10, however the ending, and we have to talk about the ending, was amazing. I was not expecting a full-on flash-forwards and it was truly epic. I felt the goosebumps through my body and it instantly elevated this episode to an 8.5-9/10.

Really great stuff!

A short, but sweet moment.

Warning: Spoilers
This was the shortest episode so far, but was effective in its message. On the surface it shows Ashoka learning the move that saved her during order 66, but it's so much more than that. It highlights her growth as a character and a warrior. It shows the close relationship she has with Anakin and the clones, who are worried for her, but want her to succeed. Anakin here is particularly interesting, showing his strive for perfection, but also his love for his padawan, wanting her to be ready for anything. I will say the characters' slightly different outfits and looks from the clone wars was a bit odd, but this short served its purpose well. Not enough depth to be amazing, but enough to be great and serve its purpose.

A tale worth telling?
Trey_Trebuchet7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This and the opening episode (also about Ahsoka Tano) are the only two that feel like true tales. The Dooku episodes felt like part of an actual television series, which I loved. The Ahsoka ones are far enough apart that they all felt like actual shorts. Not a knock against the show, of course.

This episode is basically just here to reveal that Anakin's insistent training for Ahsoka with the clones ended up being what saved her life. Things may have ended way differently for her had Anakin and Rex not trained her the way they did. Pretty dang clever did you ask me. Anakin saved Ahsoka's life in a way without probably ever knowing it.

Animation and voice work are all still great. This is a nice companion piece with The Clone Wars. Worth's arching on those terms if for nothing else.

The move that saved her life.
poseyfan26 October 2022
This episode was pure poetry. The move that she learns is the move that would eventually save her life. But unknowingly for her, it would actually be the clones that would try to kill her. Very well written.

Seeing Anakin and Ahsoka together again in the beginning of the Clone Wars era was very nostalgia inducing. It made me think of when Clone Wars aired every week on TV. Also Obi-Wan's hair was quite in point lol. The animation was very pristine as well.

Keep this coming Disney! This show has been something amazing for the Star Wars universe. A little way to expand on characters backstories.

I love this series

Warning: Spoilers
I love this series, especially the ones concerning Ahsoka! Up to now I believe she must be the greatest Living Ex-Jedi 'alive'. Up to now...

Compared to some one like Luke, who is now dead and Rey who I can't really say much about, but Ahsoka is one of the 'original, old school Jedi' that's still alive. She was taught in the ways of the force on Coruscant, met all the various Jedi's and been on missions, she did the Jedi rights of passage. Practiced and meditation with various masters in various classes!

Even met all the elders and high council, librarians etc.

Ahsoka I believe is the only living Jedi that has truly experienced the life and up bringing from the start.

Luke was kind of half trained, Rey was trained by a half trained Jedi...who in a way was too old when he started!

Episode 5 of Tales of the Jedi was a brilliant episode, kind of In a sense put her in a position that would later happen to her for real.

The way this Episode led up to season 7 of Clone wars Final episode 'victory or death!'

Great addition to what we know from Clone Wars
syndux5 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is exactly what a show like this was meant for. I already love Ahsoka and Anakin's relationship in Clone Wars and this just builds on it, as well as on Ahsoka and Rex's relationship. And even if it's barely in there it also manages to build on Obi Wan and Anakin's relationship. We didn't need the Kanan cameo in there but it's a fun addition.

We don't really get anything new, but I'll never complain about getting more well developed stories about these characters. While we already know that Anakin must have been a good master who trained Ahsoka really well, it's great to see a specific example of how his training saved her life. This format of storytelling also fits this story really well, it's just as long as it needs to be to get the point across while still having a strong emotional impact.

Solid, but iffy payoff in execution
sevskirita29 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is pretty damn solid.

The relationship between Anakin, Rex, and the clones is as good as you'd want, and the plotline makes sense and is enjoyable to watch. The choreography, animation, and most of the dialogue is on point.

One criticism I have is that I think this episode could have reached even higher. The end scene, I feel, was an innocuous payoff for such an interesting story.

I think having Rex say something like "watch your back" and maybe even "anyone can be your enemy, not just the ones in front of you" when he surprised Ahsoka during a training session, and then having him say something like "I got your back" on the S7 Venator would have been a better payoff. Just saying "hope you last longer this time" is WAYYY too banter-y and playful for the Order 66 situation and feels far too mundane because of it.

I think this episode could have been perfect if they really nailed the landing with the Order 66 scene. However, since it didn't, I feel this episode belongs in the 7-8/10 category rather than 9-10/10.
