Such a fun game!

Warning: Spoilers
I remember saving up to but this on the eShop. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint at all. Mario's at it again to save Princess Peach from Bowser. Aiding his is the return of the super leaf that interestingly turns him into tanuki Mario. He comes across several other power ups such as the boomerang flower.

With new items at his disposal, Mario's more than hand to deliver a typical beating to Bowser.. The controls are very responsive and easy to grasp. In no time, you'll be doing tricks such as a side somersault, roll and power jump. As mentioned before, you have several power ups you can find from the classics such as the Super Mushroom and Fire Flower to new items such as the Boomerang Flower and Stone Leaf.

The levels are fun and creative. They vary from getting from point A to point B to others being more puzzle based forcing you to think ahead(especially if there's a time limit). The enemies can be annoying but they're fairly easy to dispatch armed or not. It's always fun to knock out the boomerang bro's with a boomerang of your own.

My only gripe with the game is that there're some moves you can't do such as the triple jump. It's a shame because it would help greatly. That along with punching and kicking as in Super Mario 64.

Nitpicks aside, this's a very solid game that anyone can pick up and play. Mario fan it not, I highly recommend it to anyone ready to step up and save the mushroom kingdom once more.

Super Mario 3D Land: A Short But Sweet Addition to the Mario Franchise
mariomaddness18 February 2023
Super Mario 3D Land is a platform game developed by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS. As a longtime fan of the Mario franchise, I found this game to be a refreshing and enjoyable addition to the series.

The game boasts vibrant and colourful graphics that are well-suited for the 3DS's small screen, and the 3D effect adds depth and immersion to the gameplay. The controls are tight and responsive, which is crucial in a platformer like this.

One of the standout features of Super Mario 3D Land is the level design. The game strikes a perfect balance between traditional 2D Mario gameplay and the 3D world exploration found in games like Super Mario 64. The levels are cleverly designed and offer plenty of secrets to discover.

Another great feature is the power-ups, which include classic items like the Super Mushroom and Fire Flower, as well as new additions like the Boomerang Flower and Tanooki Suit. These power-ups not only add variety to the gameplay, but they also allow players to access new areas and find hidden items.

The only downside of Super Mario 3D Land is its relatively short length. Most players can finish the game in a few hours, although there are plenty of reasons to revisit the game and try to collect all of the unlockable content.

Overall, Super Mario 3D Land is an excellent addition to the Mario franchise and a must-play for fans of platformers. Its clever level design, tight controls, and fun power-ups make it a joy to play, even if it is a bit short.

The game is superb and enjoyable

To start, I think that this is one of the best mario platformers of all time. I got it around the time that I first got a 3DS. Princess Peach once again is kidnapped, leading to Mario on a quest to save her. Same as the super Mario bros games.

This does not stop it being entertaining.

The game introduces good and easy to learn mechanics The tanooki leaf returns from Super Mario bros 3. I like this item and its modified version, the stone leaf, very much. My favourite worlds are World 8 and special 1, particularly level special 1-4.

The final boss is superbly made. I like that the game requires you to collect star medals to progress. When I had defeated the fnal boss the first time, I had 79 lives.

It keeps you entertained. This game is good to try out.

The right game for people who want speed
We-cool25 July 2014
I've been trying to score less than 180 seconds in the hard levels and less than 120 seconds in the easier levels. So in order to have tons of speed , use the Tanooki suit in order to complete levels faster. If you use Regular Mario/Luigi, Boomerang Mario/Luigi, or Fire Mario/Luigi, that's just gonna waste some time. Every time I streetpass other Super Mario 3D Land players in a Wi-Fi, they get jealous because of my scores. I scored 19 on 1-3, and the ghost house levels, I always score under 60. I also scored 115 on Bowser's castle in World 8. The lowest I scored was a 4 on 7-1. I give this a 10/10 because I'm a speed demon on this game.

It's Mario
Jerg3n25 July 2023
Super Mario 3D Land is like if fast food was a videogame. It is fun and tasty enough + you can eat it anywhere. However it doesn't even come close to how delicious the buffet that other Mario games offer is nor does it leave any sort of lasting impact.

The game is best enjoyed in short bursts of a couple levels at a time which is a perfect fit for the handheld console it is on. Trying to play for more extended periods of time makes the game feel very simple and repetitive, which it is, but the handheld nature of it remedies this issue.

I would recommend it as an excellent 3DS time waster to play on the bus but I would not recommend it as a big exciting Mario game.
