Violence & Gore

  • War violence throughout.
  • Two men are killed by firing squad and bullets can be seen hitting the wall behind their backs after travelling through their bodies although there is no blood. The scene is done to show the tragic consequences of violence, rather than the glorifying of it.
  • A dead paratrooper is discovered.
  • German soldiers are shot and killed. We see them through a scope as they are shot and we hear gunfire but no blood can be seen.
  • A man is killed by a booby-trap explosive. We see his blackened face before he dies.
  • A brutal fist fight ensues between Rossi and a German soldier in which Rossi bites the soldier on the neck, leaving a bloody wound. The two continue to fight and a knife is used briefly. The fight ends with Rossi bleeding from his mouth after pummeling his opponent repeatedly.
  • A few gunshot wounds are shown implicitly, with men bleeding through their shirts and groaning in pain.
  • Several characters are shot at and some are killed. A man is shot to death to pressure his companion to divulge information.

Profanity

  • Several characters quote a saying told them by their commander which includes the "H-word."
