The character of "Nikki" was originally conceived as a man, but writers Joe Ferraro and Tim Biasi felt the character's story would be much better suited for a female. In early drafts of the script her name was "Becky" before being changed to "Nikki".
The underground casino set did not have any windows that could be opened. The set temperature reached over 100 degrees and actor James Sampson would sweat through his dress shirt and suit jacket on each of his filming days.
The actors had no rehearsals with each other, nor so much as a table read. Their first meetings were when they filmed their first scenes.
The script was based on a short screenplay written by Tim Biasi and Joe Ferraro. All characters that appeared in the short appear in the feature.
The actual getaway car is a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer belonging to writer/producer Tim Biasi.
