Ivan's woman is a disturbing love story which unfolds in a way that will cause a harrowing experience to the viewers. Still there is no escaping it's power of story telling. You can never look away for an instant. It's about the relationship between a mentally disturbed 40 year old and a naive 15 year old. Though we can never accept their love , we can never ignore it. Long after you have left the movie theater it will still haunt you. And you will have many questions.
Director Francesca Silva makes an attempt to not interfere with the journey of Ivan and Natalie. It never feels like she is making a statement. Everything that happens might be wrong , but it happens so naturally that there is never a question of plausibility.
I felt that Ivan' woman is trying to say one thing and one thing alone. Love is a strange thing. And all passion, energy ,sadness and horror in this movie comes from this one single notion.
