Were There Folks More Quaint Than The Cajuns?
Andre De La Varre directs what purports to be the first of a series of shorts titled "Quaint Folks" about the Cajuns. This short covers their geography, their reliance on the rivers, Evangeline, their use of old-fashioned arts including spinning and quilting. Nowadays, a discussion of the Cajuns would include some mention of Zydeco music.
In doing some research for this review, I discovered the the Teche is a major bayou of the region. In fact, before the Mississippi began to form a delta three or five thousand years ago, it was the Mississippi's main channel.
