After the secure monitoring courier arrives at Wilson's office, he asks for Dr. House. House turns to Wilson and asks if he's seen Spartacus. In the 1960 film starring Kirk Douglas, there was a scene where numerous enslaved people claimed to be Spartacus to keep the real Spartacus from being identified.
House says, "With great power comes great micromanaging," referencing the line commonly attributed to the comic book character Spider-Man. The line, as first used in Amazing Fantasy #15, is actually "With great power, there must also come great responsibility."
This episode marks at least the second time House uses a free flu shot to trick someone into coming into the clinic; this was previously done in S8E1 "Twenty Vicodin." It was also how House lured in the bereaved mother in S8E7 "Dead & Buried."
The B story is about two asexuals. Most asexuals do have sexual arousal just not directly to people, e.g. asexuals may be aroused by fetishes or objects.
