Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • Characters use a variety of futuristic firearms such as pistols, rifles, machine guns, and explosives in combat.
  • Cutscenes also contain instances of violence: characters shooting each other at close range; an alien getting shot, with pieces of its skull broken up into pieces.
  • An interrogation sequence allows players to choose to use force or not: if selected, Carter punches and shoots the alien while demanding information.
  • There are countless enemies to kill in combat such as Sectoids, Outisders and Mutons as well as there giant robots which blow up when destroyed.
  • You get a trophy/achievement for completing 20 headshots.
  • If your playing on the hardest difficulty, then your agents will bleed out and will die, unlike lower difficulties where you get time to revive them.
  • One of DaSilva's traps in Mission 3 is making a car crash into a gas station where many aliens are patrolling.

Profanity

  • Many uses of F**k and S**t as well as mild language such as Hell, God, Christ and Jesus.
  • Name calling (cunt, son of a bitch, bastard, asshole and motherfucker.)

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Faulke smokes a cigarette before starting a presentation.
  • Around the lab soldiers are seen smoking.
  • After talking to DaSilva in Mission 3, your agents are seen smoking in the room.
  • Carter angrily throws his ashtray across his office, Angela walks in and says "I heard there are other ways to quit smoking."
