- After a year long self-imposed sabbatical, during which time he had no contact with his office, Chicago-based advertising mogul Adan Kundle, CEO of Kundle Advertising, is found unconscious on the floor at an electronics store in front of a bank of television sets. At the hospital, the doctors are unable to find anything physically wrong with him, with the exception of what, to them, is his seeming lack of focus, or what others may see as his sole focus: the want to watch television commercials while he fires off one well known advertising slogan after another, the slogan however more often than not appropriate to the conversation at hand. With the hospital crunched for beds while they await a placement at a psychiatric facility for him, the doctors are able to convince a hospital administrator, fundraiser Karen Hillridge, who had met him once at one of his seminars twenty years ago and who she considers a genius in teaching her everything she needed to know for her job, to house him in the interim, this move which does not sit well with Karen's late teen daughter, Meghan Hillridge, especially as the two have been at odds with each other for several years, since the passing of Karen's husband/Meghan's father. Adan's presence affects the dynamic between mother and daughter, as well as places Karen in the delicate position of dealing with those at Kundle ostensibly as his caregiver. The second in charge at Kundle, Lucas Foster, wants Adan gone from the company for good, especially in this important time of handling one of its most important campaigns ever, that for Senator James Allen in his run for the White House. In the process, ruthless Lucas is trying to figure out how best to proceed with Adan, especially as he believes Adan never does anything by chance.—Huggo
