"Reader Beware" finally gave us a little bit of backstory and perhaps as much explanation as you could hope to gather from a program as absurd as this one.
But the story is still really shaky and it still feels odd on a lot of levels. Let's ignore the unlikelihood of a group of friends from high school all having their kids at the exact same age so they would grow up together and instead include notes on how the mythical story seems to have an evil guy who could do whatever he wants but was still able to be trapped in a basement and not really come out and do something for almost 30 years. Strange.
