This has been a well-written limited series!

I, normally, just cover casting errors for work on these projects, but this one has really grabbed my attention and with good reason. The casting, script, and direction for A Friend of the Family has been top-notch from episode 1. The story is as old as time detailing the chronicle of the Broberg family of Pocatello, Idaho and how they were taken in by a manipulative, disturbed, pedophile named Robert Berchtold, alias 'B', who had his sights focused on their oldest daughter, Jan, back in the 70's. Thankfully, he is long dead by his own hand but the memories and scars for that family will never go away. Both Jake Lacy as 'B' and unrecognizable Colin Hanks as Bob Broberg, the patriarch, do a convincing job at tackling these complex roles. Kudos to the Brobergs who have courageously shared their harrowing tale with American viewers. With only one more episode to go in the 9 part series, the production and its team deserve some Emmys!
