- Paranoia among tribemates threatens to break a once-impenetrable alliance, and castaways are shocked at Tribal Council with the announcement of another double elimination. Meanwhile, on Redemption Island, a castaway makes a bold threat to his former tribemates during the duel challenge, and two castaways are sent home.—CBS Publicity
- Previously on 'Survivor': It was neck and neck at the merge, but Cochran betrayed his whole tribe and sent Keith to Redemption Island. Ozzy didn't win, all the old Upolu voted him out. Whitney won immunity in the next challenge. Albert tried to take control and put a target on Dawn, but his plan was nixed and the tribe voted Jim out to Redemption Island.
Redemption Island: Jim joins Keith and Ozzy and his first words are, "I thought we were supposed to be the final three!" He tells the others about how all the old Upolu sat out the immunity challenge.
"I won't to say I told you so, gentlemen," Ozzy says, referring to his initial concerns about Cochran, "so I won't say it."
Back at camp: Coach announces that Jim "is the most dangerous kind of person" because he'll say one thing to your face and turn on you. Coach then tells us how no one should feel like they're at the bottom of an alliance because that's when people look for better opportunities. Whitney is flabbergasted that all "these smart people can be so stupid" in believing that they'll all somehow end up in the finals.
Cochran has joined Coach's tai chi ritual and he tells us "I am drinking the Coach Kool-Aid." Coach then confides in Cochran that he's "worried" about Albert and Brandon, and that he thinks he's going to get blindsided. Coach tells Cochran he'll do everything in his power to make sure Cochran isn't voted out with seven players left. Cochran is now concerned.
Redemption Island: Keith, Ozzy and Jim show up for the duel, and the whole tribe is there to watch.
They're standing on a platform pressing two poles up against a plank above their heads. If they drop their hands at all, the pole will fall and they'll lose. The first two players to drop their poles are out of the game and will be the first two members of the jury.
Jim drops a pole first and is out. It's down to Keith and Ozzy, two allies, and Keith finally drops out. Ozzy, who had zero support from the crowd when Jeff asked if anyone was rooting for him, is still in.
Later, we see Ozzy in his Redemption Island paradise. He's fishing and climbing trees for coconuts, and telling us that he's only getting stronger out there on his own. He says the next people who come out to Redemption are going to be confronte with a huge challenge.
Back at camp: Rick is failing to catch fish and Dawn and Cochran are hungry. Dawn talks to Cochran, saying she's willing to do pretty much anything to stay in the game. He's considering rejoining Dawn. He's thinking he has to make a big move.
Immunity challenge: The players have to balance a bowl of rice on their heads and walk over a teeter-totter and dump the rice into another bowl. The first player to fill his or her bowl to a certain level wins immunity.
Brandon is the first to fill two bowls worth of rice into his bowl, and and Dawn and Sophie soon follow. Everyone else is struggling. Sophie makes a bold move and fills her third bowl of rice beyond the rim. Brandon and Dawn each fill their third bowl's worth first but they don't reach the threshhold, but Sophie's super-sized bowl is enough to put over the edge and give her immunity.
Jeff mentions there will be a twist at Tribal Council.
Back at camp: Cochran is frustrated with his performance in the challenge. Cochran is nervous about the twist.
Dawn is convinced she's going to Redemption Island, and she and Whitney think they should talk to Albert. Whitney thinks Brandon is too much of a loose cannon, Rick "isn't even playing the game," and Edna is "too much up Coach's butt."
Albert thinks he's at a crossroads. He thinks he needs to get Edna out. He wants to get Cochran, Whitney and Dawn and one more person to vote out Edna. Coach and Brandon see Albert talking to Dawn and Whitney, and both take notice.
Albert tells Cochran that he's going to be voted out seventh, without a doubt. Cochran is now ready to to make a move, it seems.
Albert now moves on to Sophie, telling her the plan to get Edna out and giving the justification. She thinks his "true colors" are showing, and thinks they're similar to her own true colors -- that he's strategic and wants to win.
Coach is noticing all this and issues a mob-boss-like warning: "If anyone votes against the family, they're dead."
Tribal Council: Dawn says it's time for someone to use "the two of us," referring to Whitney and herself. She thinks that "5, 6, and 7" from the Upolu tribe (and Cochran) should align with them. Whitney says she knows Cochran is 7, but knows nothing else.
Cochran thinks he's more solid than seventh, but acknowledges this is the "ideal time for somebody to make a big move."
Coach is asked if he's concerned and says he is concerned. He says he believes and trusts, also. Whitney calls out Coach as the leader of the tribe and says everyone is "always reporting back to Coach." Albert agrees it's been interpreted that Coach is the leader. He says he doesn't see Coach as his leader, saying, "he might just be a figurehead. Coach winces at this.
The vote: Whitney writes down Edna's name and says, "I really hope there's four more of these."
The 11th person voted out is Dawn. There were only two votes for Edna.
The twist: Jeff announces the twist: "We're going to go right into another immunity challenge, with a vote to follow."
The players have to answer survival-related questions. Albert, Edna and Rick get the first answer wrong.
Down to five, Cochran and Brandon get the second question wrong.
Down to Whitney, Coach and Sophie -- it's Coach who gets it wrong.
It's down to Whitney and Sophie. And Sophie wins immunity.
With no time to consult, Sophie has to cast the first vote. No votes are reveals while they're cast.
Jeff reads the votes: Cochran, Whitney, Whitney, Whitney, Whitney, and the 12th person voted out is Whitney.
