- Gino wakes up tied to a chair in an apartment, and his abductor is vacuuming the carpet and measuring the floor. He gives Gino an injection to sedate him, and later Gino wakes up and gagged to a table. The abductor calmly talks to him, saying the other were also in pain. He cuts open Gino's clothes and says there's a war coming and will fix something. He sees a military tattoo on Gino, says that Gino already served and can't serve again. The man tells Gino that he's a fellow brother in arms, thanks him for his service, tells Gino that he can tell the police but they won't care, and sedates Gino again.
Later, Gino wakes up in a booth in an adult store, and staggers out onto the street.
Hannah is studying a sample of blood with the infection. She goes to her office and meets with Sam, and she tells her that she's seen four people with the infection, and it's sexually transmitted. Hannah gives him pills to get rid of his sickness, and tells him to get bed rest and refrain from sexual activity.
Sam leaves, going through the waiting room where a woman is saying that she has a weird rash and is tired all the time. She yanks the magazine away from another man who is holding it up to his face, saying he's listening to her. The man, Whitely, says that he's in for a cat scratch. He's called into Hannah's office.
Adam visits Gino in his office and asks him to print a photo of Sully in his paper. He says that the police isn't too interested in finding the missing Sully, and Gino tells him that he was abducted the previous night, tortured, and that the police don't care. He says that he was saved by "better angels", and wonders who will be next. He tells Adam that he's tracking more violence against gay men. Gino says that he was spared, and will print his story about the killer for his small readership. He tells Adam that Sully is probably dead, and Adam is going to have to have a long thing about what he'll do next. Adam says that he wants to create a hotline so people can call and they share information, and tells Gino that he's angry and didn't know what to do about it. Gino warns Adam that he'll be putting a target on his back.
Later, Gino and Adam print flyers and distribute them through the city. Calls start to come in on Gino's line, and men haul Adam away while he's on the street.
Fran and the other women come in and taunt Gino. He takes a switchblade out of his desk and dares them to attack him. They casually take it away and Fran says there there's nothing in the paper, and tells Gino that he's a gay male chauvinist. Gino doesn't want to talk to them, and goes through some photos for the front page. He tells Fran the others to take a nearby desk and do their thing, writing about whatever they want, and stay out of his face.
At the station, the police accuse Adam of trying to make them look bad. Patrick tells Adam that gay men are usually harmless. Marzara is there, and says that they're constrained by the law One of the officers lets a gay man in, and he slaps Adam and leaves. The police tell Adam to call Gino and say they were wrong about them. Adam curses them, and Marzara tells the others to lock Adam up and leaves.
Later, Patrick goes to see Adam and says that he'll let him out soon. He sets a can of soda in the cell, and Adam takes and drinks it. Patrick tells him to call him if he learns anything, and doesn't want to learn he got shot by the cops.
Gino leaves the paper, and Barbara approaches him and says that she wants to talk to him. She read The Native and wonders if the killer will eventually come after someone other than gay men. Then Barbara says that she was cleaning out her and Patrick's basement, and found a box filled with drugs, bandannas. and leather. She asks if that's what Gino and Patrick like to do, and Gino figures that she's trying to trick him into talking about his sex life. She figures that Gino didn't know about it, and he walks away.
Morris man bails Adam out, and Adam describes what happened. He tells Adam to lighten up, and go out with him that night to a party, and all the cool downtown artists will be there.
That night, the two men are taking the subway train. A woman across them says that something evil is coming for Adam. Then she goes back to muttering to herself.
Gino and Patrick are having dinner, and Gino finally says that the police he talked to thought he was making his abduction up. Patrick says that he'll find someone who will listen to Gino, and Gino tells him not to b other, and asks Patrick what the police are doing. He asks when Patrick is going to tell them he's gay, and Patrick says that he just left his wife. Gino gets up and says that they should go on their own. When Patrick wonders where they should go, Gino tells him they should find a bar where the killer would feel comfortable. Patrick gives in and the two men go to a gay bar.
At one of the bars, Stewart has a drink ordered for him by a man at the other end. As Stewart leaves, a payphone on the wall rings. Stewart answers it, and the caller invites him to a bar, just the two of them. The caller tells Stewart to come to him, and gives him his address. The caller hangs up.
Adam and Morris go to the party at the Ditch, and the host welcomes everyone to the "end of time". He tells everyone to be kind to cats wandering all over the bar, then calls Morris up to the stage. The host recites his poetry, and says that something is coming as he points at Adam. Nervous, Adam pushes through the crowd and then goes outside. Theo is there, and follows Adam out, then approaches him. Adam asks how many guys Adam "collects", and Adam says that the his collection is just about sex. After a moment, Adam suggests the they just get a drink and talk.
Patrick and Gino enter the bar and split up to check the bar. Gino talks to Alana and introduces Patrick, and Alana tells Gino to leave because they can't have the place associated with any of what Gino is investigating. Gino assures that he's just looking around, and he'll leave the Ditch out of it. Alana agrees and walks away. A man hits on Patrick, who makes it clear he's not he's interested. Patrick tells Gino that it's not his play, and Gino says it must sick living in denial. He figures Patrick has been there before.
The man who hit on Patrick gets a drink with an umbrella in it. The bartender tells him that a guy ordered the drink, and is gone now.
Gino tells Patrick that Barbara came to see him, and there was plenty of letter in it. He says that Barbara thinks Patrick is so good at lying that it's impossible to know when he's telling the truth.
Whitely comes up behind the man he ordered the drink for, tells him not to turn around, and says the drink he had sent over is a mai tai. The man turns around, and Whitely stabs him in the neck and walks off.
As Gino asks Patrick what he's hiding, they hear a scream. Patrick runs over and tells the management to seal the exists, while Gino sees the mai tai on the bar.
Two of the men are walking down the street, unaware that Big Daddy is watching them.
Hannah is dictating a report about Whitely's symptoms, figuring it's another case of Kaposi's sarcoma she's found in deer. Fran calls her and says that she knows what is happening to her patients, and the deer on Fire Island. She has Hannah meet her at Central Park. Hannah goes there and sees Big Daddy, holding a chain. Hannah runs and bumps into Fran, who says the man she was running from is right down the walk. Big Daddy is gone, and Hannah says that there's vulnerable people in NYC being attacked by vulnerable people.
Sam goes to Theo's study, and calmly walks by Big Daddy standing watch at the door. Continuing in, Sam takes out a hidden key and uses it to unlock a door to a flight of stairs going down to a cage in the basement. Stewart is in it, and he yells at Sam to let him out. Sam tells him that it only hurts if Stewart fights it, and Stewart is done when Sam says he's done. Chuckling, Sam tells Stewart that they're just getting started, then tells Stewart that he's a freak and he knew what he was getting into. He ten tells Stewart that they're going to have some fun.
At his apartment, Patrick can't sleep and goes out to the living room. Gino is there, and says that he can't sleep. Patrick points out that they all have to go on is the paper umbrella, and Gino talks about secrets and Patrick has the most. Patrick gets a call and says that he'll be there, and tells Gino that they found something.
Patrick goes to an alleyway, and Marzara is there with his men. He shows Patrick body parts hanging up, and says that each one is from a different man.
