Shane chases the hooded figure through the shrubbery but they get to their sedan and drive off before he gets there.
In the back of the ambulance, the paramedic tries to keep Nancy talking. She realizes she's been shot in the head. She closes her eyes for a little bit.
Andy packs up Nancy's things. Jill explains that Nancy doesn't need a silk camisole and a thong in the hospital. Later he can go through her underwear while Jill goes through her jewelry. She's dark and dry in a crisis.
Two nosy old neighbors, Phillip and Whimsy Ardmore, climb a ladder and look into the Botwin back yard. They explain they try to keep the noise down in the enclave. They find the idea of a gunshot unacceptable.
Cops come into the back yard and Shane tells them where to look and how to pick up evidence. An over-eager officer named Tipton annoys him.
At the hospital, Doug figures it had to be the Mexicans. They wonder where they'll bury her if she dies -- it can't be in the Jewish cemetery next to Jonah, she never finished conversion classes. The doctor says she's in a medically induced coma but it will be a while before they can assess brain damage. The bullet is still in there for now. Silas goes to see her.
A hospital administrator comes by with paperwork because we're not Canada, Ukraine, Thailand, Iraq or any number of other countries with health insurance. "We're America, we take all credit cards," she says.
Doug, with the corporate credit card, takes the papers. Shane comes in with a post on his phone from one of Jill's daughters, a picture of bloody Nancy.
In Nancy's room, Shane and Silas raid the gift baskets of her hospital roommate. Silas asks what Shane would have done if he'd caught the person. Shane tells him he learned how to subdue an armed suspect last week -- he's not in college, he's in the police academy.
They go through suspects: Guillermo, Cesar, Zoya the angry lesbian. Even Silas' girlfriend Emma. "What about that chick whose husband Nancy banged in the trailer park?" Silas asks.
There are so many possibilities. Shane hopes they come back, so that he can nail him.

Jill chews out her daughter for posting the photo of Nancy's bloody face.
Doug comes in with vending machine food. He takes some gift basket artichoke hearts. They food is laid out all over Nancy. Shane and Silas leave him alone with Nancy.
"Feels kind of weird eating off your body, especially when you're not naked," he says. He moves the food off and brushes off the crumbs, including the ones on her boobs. He makes sure to get those really well, massaging her breasts in a full-on grope job. He's peering down her hospital gown when the daughter of the man in the other bed comes in and catches Doug with all her dad's food.
Jill comes in and puts eye cream on comatose Nancy. Andy appreciates that he's doing something nice for Nancy. They get turned on. She has to pause to remove something that she practices kegels on. It ends up on the comatose roommate's bed.
After, Andy feels a little bad. Jill goes home to take a shower. The daughter of the comatose man finds the vagina weight on her dad's bed. "Oh, she'll want that back -- my friend's rebuilding her pelvic floor," Andy explains.
Cut to him kicked out in the cafeteria. A guy named Dave shares his table. He asks Andy who he's there for. "My dead brother's wife. She might be dying, so I f---- her sister up against the wall of her room," Andy over-shares. He goes into vagina weights.
Then feels bad for not keeping her safe, and wonders why she doesn't love him back, and what is he doing raising her children and what happens if she dies and he's only defined his life through her and what then?
He stops rambling long enough to ask Dave who he's there for. He's the hospital rabbi, chaplain actually. He's not bothered by the sister-f---- stuff. Andy shares that he's not sure if he believes in God, but he feels very lost. Dave the Rabbi says that's why many people turn to god.
Jill says Nancy would live because there is no god. If there is, she doesn't stand a chance with all the stuff she's done.
As a Jew, Dave thinks his obligation is to wrestle, not simply, blindly believe. Dave offers to say a prayer for Nancy, just in case.
The kid who shot her visits her hospital room. It's Peter, her former dead husband's, son Tim. "I thought I'd feel better, but I don't," he says.
The daughter of the comatose man walks in with a drink and runs into him. He runs off and she yells. Nancy's machines start beeping. "Yea, well, karma," the woman says.
