Do not pay attention to the bad reviews
TheReel1412 November 2022
Look! Firstly this is reality tv, now put that aside. If you liked Selling Sunset you will love this more the houses are fab and the show is less about drama and fashion and more about the business the house, yes they are human so there are some human topic but deep down its all about different types of people trying to make it and even if your not in the house estate business theres plenty of life/ career advice for you to relate too. Yes there is nepotism BUT they don't hide it they talk about it face on, ALL of them do. Honestly watch it, it deserves a season 2 just hope it remains authentic, positive and doesn't go down hill like Selling Sunset where its less about the house and more about there heels and drama with each other. Make it happen Netflix!

Homes are amazing
paulamstubbs6 November 2022
Love seeing homes like this. Yes it is a reality show but if you go in with no prior judgment you will like the interaction between co-workers and family. Farrah is so calm and confident, so beautifully reserved.

Some need to not worry about nepotism. Just keep working hard. Many companies have family working there.

For those who are unhappy with happenings on other shows, just don't watch it..Like a toxic friend that you will ghost. Ghost the show and leave reviews for genuine viewers. It is a pity that some reviews have this bias when there are so many in this show who are not part of other shows or what happened.

It's just popcorn TV.

Warning: Spoilers
You can have this on, while doing other things; it doesn't need you to be there 100%.

This is really two shows; one is about the real estate, one is about the drama at the Agency. It is not as in-depth on the Beverly Hills real estate, as it is about the me, me, me that these adult children generate.

But the clear takeaway is that Ben ITA. A BIGTIME A-HOLE.

He.openly flaunts that he is considering going to Hilton + Hyland. He perpetuates the Beverly Hills self-centric chip-on-the-shoulder attitude.

But, most of these people suffer from huge lacks of confidence, while still telling you how good, important, etc. That they are.

The Alexia Show
harmswaykids9 November 2022
I decided to watch the whole season to give it a fair review. Although there were a few entertaining moments (very few) it felt like the Alexia show. Although her older sister, Farrah is in the show, you get the idea that she is Cinderella in the sense that she handles a good majority of the day to day office work because Mauricio is too busy. Alexia gets things handed to her, spends her time invested in office gossip, playing ping pong and going out to lunch. And to top it off she doesn't understand why people think she is the office spoiled brat and unapproachable.

I though it would include more sales of homes that they show us. No in reality we see beautiful decadent homes that never sell or we don't actually see the sale. A few open houses, a lot of drinking and of course office gossip but actually selling, who has time? However we do see the family home sold by Alexia who was... big surprise given the listing.

Well if you are actually interested in seeing homes sold choose another option. If your only wish is to go from Alexia's issue to issue with other office gossip thrown in then this is the show for you.

My advice to the show's producers, at least be honest and change the name to the Alexia Umansky show with guest appearances by Cinderella and Mauricio.

75% drama involving the real estate agents in Beverly Hills, 25% about selling homes.
JerryrFlanagan30 March 2024
Buying Beverly Hills has some magnificent homes for sale on it. The restaurant scenes and house party scenes are entertaining. People who have resided in Los Angeles county for 10-50 years have witnessed the awe-inspiring million dollar residences, attended parties held in some of these luxurious homes, dined at upscale restaurants just minutes away from these properties, or stayed in top-notch hotels located near these homes. What the majority of Hollywood fans don't want is additional drama centered on the families and real estate agents involved in selling those homes for the owners. Yes, many of the owners happen to be well-known celebrities. This TV show mainly focuses on the drama and parties among the Beverly Hills real estate agents, with only a small portion, around 25%, dedicated to selling homes. Who cares, in my humble opinion?

Boring and Sad
suzanneduplessis6 November 2022
If you enjoy extremely boring and scripted reality tv 'starring' the psychopath known as Mauricio Umansky, then this show is for you. Creepy doesn't begin to describe him or this show.

Why Umansky would want to draw attention to his business in light of the sanctions he's received from the real estate board, his lawsuits for screwing over his own clients, as well as the fact that half of his agents have quit The Agency (yes Umansky's screwed them out of commision too), is beyond me.

The only up side to this show is to further show the general public just how awful these Beverly Hills rich folks are. Family to them is nothing more than a buzz word.

Awful from the beginning to end
AlHal8921 November 2022
This is a sad, sad show for low intelligent people.

A real estate agency that is purely a success due to two things, one being Mauricio's deceit of the Hiltons (which Mauricio conveniently did not mention and was the reason for Kyle and Kathy's split years ago) and the other thing - the immense amount of free advertisement on RHOBH.

Then he brings in his hoarse, immature, semi-alcoholic, mean girl of a daughter, Alexia, who is so unintelligent it hurts. She even admits to being "slow" in one episode! All she ever will be good at is college drinking games. Selling property is way out of her iq-level and selling properties in Beverly Hills is not exactly hard. She'd do better taking her high school drama and her endless crying and start selling vitamins for a pyramid scheme instead. Alexia has no charisma what so ever, she is boring, she knows nothing about the real world, her general knowledge is very poor and she lacks humor and basic english language. It must be hard to see that your parenting has lead to this and the only way of her ever having a job is to give her one on a silver platter. Someone gives her performance a C. I laughed out loud because in my book she would have failed and gotten fired. It was embarassing to say the least. To then go and cry like a baby to your father is just a showcase of her unprofessionalism.

Farrah is much better. At least she tries to look busy and sets realistic goals without crying to daddy. She does look like an alien sometimes but maybe she is in to that so I don't judge.

All the other characters are boring, have nothing to do in the real estate business or just seem very scripted.

All I know from watching this show is that I would never trust my properties with this immensely childish and unprofessional company. Someone at Netflix must have been bribed to let this complete s*it show to air.

Popcorn Fluff TV Real Estate Show
charlotte-027745 November 2022
I think the first reviewer has been unnecessarily harsh. This is not Emmy Winning material, but it nails perfectly what provides the appeal of every high end real estate reality show. Homes we cannot afford. Jobs we do not have. Clothes we cannot fit into or afford. Cars we do not drive. Lives we admire. It is a window into a sometimes superficial world, but damn it's so much fun. Get caught up in the storyline, relationships, and jaw droppingly stunning Beverly Hills real estate. Fabulous.

Tracking the professional and personal interplay between the family and work colleagues is great fun, and I am looking forward to future seasons.

This must be completely scripted
FrannyFine7 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I find it hard to believe that a successful man like Mauricio Umansky would have a bunch of clowns working for him. Apart from his daughters and the senior agents, I'm pretty sure the junior agents are paid actors. They're totally useless at selling houses and can't even string a sentence together while showing a house to a potential buyer. It's obvious Alexia only got the job because she's the boss' daughter. Being on this show is not doing her any favours and only makes her look bad. Ok so she's a junior but come on, she's 26 not 18.

Farah looks like she has a perpetual stick up her ass. She always looks unimpressed (or maybe it's just that her face muscles can no longer move) and you can totally feel the sibling rivalry. Farah wants the company to have a good reputation and knows Alexia is compromising that. Farah wants to voice her concerns to Mauricio however she knows she has to be very careful because Alexia is the *biological* daughter. And she carefully refers to Alexia as Mauricio's "baby" instead of "biological daughter". That's when you know she knows she's not the same as Alexia..

I was surprised that each episode runs for 45 minutes, but soon found out that it's because the show doesn't focus only on real estate, but also unnecessarily on the staff's personal and drama filled love lives.

I was really interested in watching a series showcasing what multi million dollar houses look like, instead we get another take on the rich kids of Beverly Hills. I would normally give this a one star rating, however I gave it a second star because at least we get to see some stunning houses.

Enjoyed!
alexfranciskelly12 November 2022
I was hesitant to watch this as I feel real estate shows are overpowering the reality television genre. I was worried that this was going to be another version of Selling Sunset.

However I'm saying this, I really enjoyed watching Buying Beverly Hills. It was refreshing to see actual realtors who are industry professionals.

I thought they each had good storyline's seperate to real estate. I would have liked to have seen Allie a bit more, I feel she could be great tv if she had more air time.

Hope they make a second season so we can see how it plays out with Sofia potentially joining The Agency.

Yawn. 10 star reviews??? It dropped from Netflix's Top 10 QUICK for a reason.
ljae-9097015 November 2022
Why are the high star reviews written in such a ditzy way and so emotional about all the low reviews???? Hmmm. Sorry that this show is just not popular with the general public and dropped to not even #10 on Netflix on the second week of it being on air and 20% on rotten tomatoes! The general audience senses lack of authenticity and we're bored! The show is scripted and doesn't even have a fun script at that. The drama with the flamboyant middle aged man and the fling of the teenager is fake. Viewers aren't idiots and can fish out bad acting that belongs in a low budget movie that hits the tank. Complete rubbish. Netflix, who has hit smashes like LOVE IS BLIND, SELLING SUNSET, etc. Really embarrassed itself, hence the lack of ads to promote this boring mess.

About realtors rather than property
sarah_edwards10 November 2022
I watched this expecting it to be about the real estate market or the properties themselves, but instead it is a showcase for the vacuous Umansky sisters & other permatanned two-faced people who work in a particular agency.

Despite being related in some cases, and supposedly friends in others, the people who feature in this show spend more time saying something to each other's faces with over the top enthusiasm (and sometimes thinly veiled criticism) then something totally different to other people, or to the camera.

The other star of this show is the hideous fashions which make these people look like they've been dressed at an 80's English jumble sale (which is not a good thing). If you're a fan of people who look like they've had plastic surgery & been primped to within an inch of their life before being dressed in worn out, dishevelled or incorrectly sized clothing, whilst behaving horribly towards each other, then this is the show for you. If you want a programme about properties, you should avoid it at all costs!

Mind-Numbing Shallowness From Start to End
alhopkins-7661411 November 2022
My family and I watched the show from the beginning to the final episode to give the most reasonable review possible. As depicted on the show, the daughters seem presumptuous without much substance; Alexia, for example, skips steps and presumptuously believes she is entitled to a large listing due to familial relationships with a weak sales pitch that would not pass in the real world. This sense of entitlement from the main characters or Alexia and Farrah is regrettably demonstrated from start to finish and too much of a hindrance for the viewer to let loose during viewership. Unfortunately, the flashy imagery of properties cannot distract the viewer from the negative stereotypes perpetuated throughout the show. We do not recommend it.

I loved it
marijkevanijperen6 November 2022
Reading the reviews I was a bit surprised. I realy loved it. Binged the season on a sunday! I am from the Netherlands and I loved getting a look in al those beautiful homes.

I loved the people of the agency as well and seeing how difficult it can be for daughters to fight the idears of people thinking it was handed to them.

The show made me see the daughters hard work and talent. And I liked the stories. They seemed genuine to me and not scripted :-) But you never now.

A good show to binge watch on the weekend. I would recommend it for sure and I hope there will be a second season. Looking forward to binging that :-)

A bunch of controlling whiners...........
gkemerer24 March 2024
So I just watched Season 2 of this vapid show. Farrah needs to learn that she can't control people -- in this case, her friend Melissa. Nor can she control other people and what they say about her relationship. That's life, baby. Sophia cares more about how she looks than about building a career as far as I can tell. They're all shallow and materialistic and competitive (not in a good way). I can pretty much bet that they will never be happy because they don't understand that life is about learning, growing, having compassion for others and just being good people and being ethical. These people have a long way to go to maturity but that's ok. The universe will smack them upside the head......

LOVE IT!
reneespickering7 November 2022
Obsessed! Finally A Real Estate show that isn't all drama and actually has interesting information and clever people on it! I felt like this show did a better job portraying a realistic view into the world of high-end real estate. The houses are stunning and it was great to be able to get a sneak peak into what they look like both inside and out. The Beverly Hills Real Estate world looks so different to the rest and I think this should did a great job portraying that. My favorite characters are Jon, Brandon and Sonika! I hope that it gets renewed for a second season, I would absolutely watch it!

Disappointed Viewer
cb-359655 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Either the show is completely fake & scripted with Alexia being a horrible actress or all the comments from fellow hard working members at the agency, about being handed everything on a gold platter are completely true. Melissa was nice candidly saying she deserved a C, then telling her she deserved a B-. She deserved a D or F from the footage shown. But again this looked totally scripted. There is another girl who is a Junior agent, Sonika, who just is on there to promote her singing, looking to create drama any time she can, to stay relevant to the show. Although her attempts proved to die down quickly. Ben despising Joey then wanting him on his team, all seemed scripted, all be it, these 2 guys acting was better than the majority of the rest of their fellow agents. The ending with another daughter being brought in, come on. It doesn't leave the viewer anticipating what will happen & can't wait for season 2 as intended. It was overall a huge let down unfortunately.

The show falls flat
sammysilberman12 November 2022
The episodes fell painfully flat and the show is as boring and lifeless as Farrah's face. I literally do not see the allure of these main characters. Maybe they think if they praise themselves enough the audience will be tricked into thinking they are more special than they are, but they are incredibly boring and do not hide the fact of who full of themselves they are! Why in the world does Alexia have a Porsche when she is just entering the real world? This is just a one-dimensional archetype of a spoiled girl without anything at all to back it up except whininess and self-victimization. Why is Farrah tooting her own horn throughout the episodes? Am I missing something about her? The entire show is too try-hard, and not to mention the drama is so flat and childish! The episodes are desperately reaching for depth, which is just not there, from a character standpoint. They seem like they're delivering lines artificially with bad acting skills and it's just full of bad contrived plot lines! The climax or cliff hanger is supposedly that another sister is joining, but who cares?

If not scripted then boring & wooden seen before
jo_marie-199-5944106 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Nepotism at its finest. Boring. Kyle's husband is as interesting as a cardboard box.

Kyle's eldest daughter is fine and is the most authentic and nicest out of the family in this show. The other daughter is 25years old but behaves like a spoilt teenager. She sounds and behaves just like her mother & is really not good at selling houses. She sells her childhood home for 6 million but who couldn't sell the home they grew up in?

Boring show. It's the same as any other show with homes that we cannot afford but with Mo Umanski constantly reminding us that he is the number 2 best realtor in the country/world.

Best real etate show...bad reviews are from people who hate this sort of show
noracurry27 February 2023
OK.. is it silly and vacuous yes but is it great at being what it is...yes! Way more genuine and honest than any other reality tv selling realestates show. Totally binged watched it and enjoyed every silly moment...I liked the relationships and appreciated the genuine history and connections between the cast. I also enjoyed the geographical/house info and history behind the properties

The fact that the homes are actually interesting and full of character really helps too. Definitely popcorn tv to switch off and chill out to. Who on earth watches this sort of thing and expects to have mind bending intellectual discourse? It is what it is and its great at it.

New lows in reality TV
mark-4094429 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Two episodes in, not one house has been sold or bought, the amount of makeup is epic, Max Factor scratch factor 10. The intelligence and personality level is rock bottom, with the exception of Brandon, although he is the token black guy, he seems to be the most personable and at least shows some depth. And hey he has a "Mazdarati" When they are actually working and we get to see the houses for sale, they are exceptional, and the prices are only out weighed by the exorbitant commissions taken for showing a lounge and bedroom. I guess that makeup costs a lot?

Save yourself the time, and paint your own home and watch it dry, it's a better watch.

Fake faces waxed eyebrows
rachy-8414511 November 2022
Buying Beverly Hills I have to admit, is the first I've watched of this particular genre. Indeed, it's not something I'd ever usually even watch. But here we are. I'm clearly unable to make comparisons to other similar shows, but I've scored this 10/10 because of: a) the visuals, cinematography and editing are excellent b) many of the homes are lovely and I would like to live there (if they weren't in Beverley Hills) c) mushroom drops are great.

The only odd thing is that most of the people look like skeletons who have been hit with a make up gun. Which adds 20 years. Surely there is a better way to spend all this money.

It's mind blowing.

I wish it was only about Farah and Ben.
infochrishudson7 November 2022
After watching all episodes, I decided to stick to Selling Sunset with better visuals and more insight into the business side of real estate.

How convenient that Mauricio left out the part where he was working for the Hiltons. He did not just built this from nothing, but through his family connection with his on-laws. He seems like a chauvinist with a sexist sense of humour.

Alexia is still a child. She cries about people reacting to her privilege instead of working hard like her sister, Farah. Alexia has a lot to learn about professionalism and business. I appreciate that she is vulnerable and emotional but her lack of awareness around how privileges is making her unrelatable. Same goes for the other young lady who should just stick to singing. They both need a reality check.

Mauricio seems a bit cheap and old-fashioned in regards to commissions and how he treats his staff. I wish the show was more focused on Ben, Brandon and Jon instead of him.

It's interesting to look at this company in light of all the lawsuits about the unethical practices, and the cheating allegations.

WHO CARES, LITERALLY? BORING and anyone who says otherwise is a family or friend.
lilithompson-5027021 November 2022
Absolutely, horrifically and terribly BORING from a reality "stars" standpoint. I mean, OBVIOUSLY this is boring, and it's known. It dropped rapidly from Netflix's spectrum of "top"-anything's. Actually, to date it has an 18% on rotten tomatoes. I wasted my time watching this for even a minute of my existence. I just want to know, besides their family and friends, who cares about this show? The conversations are BORING. The script is BORING. The people appear BORING. Their personalities are BORING. The peripheral characters are BORING. The plotline is BORING. The visuals have already been seen a million times on a million different shows and are therefore BORING. I would rather pick my nose and flick it to the TV screen than watch this.

Warning: Spoilers
Don't know where to start, a very bad copy of already existing real estate shows who are all of course the number ONE (of their own planet I guess), apparently all over the world (in EU never heard about it...) sooo scenario based but a very bad one..., the "very busy" CEO but who still has time to appear on his wife's show.. a big JOKE, and poor Farah, 32y girl looking more like a 52y with bad surgery... all "working very hard"... not the same definition of work as the rest of the world...and the very funny finale, the last second sister coming like a threat... what a suspense...please no SEASON 2.
