Laughing at the plot holes and absurdities
cuvtixo-1325 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If this were a movie, I'd say "turn your brain off and enjoy". In the third season, I'm now keeping track of the silliness, and reading the reviews, I'm not the only one. Here's a biggie, Baba Voss burns the library, because the the books contain knowledge of weaponry. But... the children also know, in particular, the craft of bomb-making and a bit of shooting, too. So, why wouldn't Baba kill the kids, if he's so afraid of the knowledge? Plus, it's really no surprise when Sheva mentions there's other libraries, one might think Baba might consider this. There should be a message in this episode, that burning books is always, always a moronic thing to do. It's not so surprising perhaps, because the show writers also seem so moronic, one has to assume they hate books. Will they burn the inevitable novelization? If they can figure out to use a lighter.

Good but...

Warning: Spoilers
A good episode that takes the story forward. Great acting and it is all true to the story. However, why oh why doesn't anyone realise they can chase down that bombcart and shoot it with a gun or burning arrow to blow it all up and groundset the whole power structure? I get if the non-see'ers can't or don't get that but Haniwa, Kofun and the rest should realise that in a heartbeat. Yes, I do realize we need the build up for a great series finale in the end, but not taking advantage of the most obvious course of action truly bothers me. Still, I can't wait to SEE where it all will end. Pun superly attended.

Plot holes? People reading too much into this show.
phillipschepp9 February 2023
Of course there are plot holes in this show. There are sooooo many plot holes in 98% of sci-fi, fantasy, action shows, and even rom coms. This show opened with a very engaging visual spectacle, and has continued to provide those spectacles at regular intervals. This visual spectacle is the primary draw of the show, not the dialog. All you negative reviewers need to remember what this show is even about. It's not meant to live up to real-world physics laws, it's meant to make the viewer say: 'holy fart tbhat was cool!' Or 'Eeeeew! Did you see that?!' Or 'Why is (insert character name) so stupid?!'. I don't understand how people can think the best way to engage with movies or TV is to hold it up to impossible standards. The acting and choreography are top-shelf. The cast is unbelievably talented. All you negative nancies need a refresher in the meaning of entertainment. Why do you continue to watch a show that obviously angers you to the point of spending time to write a misguided negative review on imdb? Either you're entertained by the show or you're not, and if you're not, why do you continue to watch?

Absurdity of immense proportions
Wilishem26 September 2022
Here's a trick question. You sit in a building with a warehouse full of bombs and have sighted people on your side with guns, and you're being attacked by a group of blind sword-wielding blind soldiers. What would you do? If you said, "Well gee, Papa, shall we jolly good bomb the heck outta them?" I wouldn't blame. At the very least, it means you've got some common sense and critical thinking. But you know who's got none of it? Show runners and scriptwriters of this clown circus show known as See.

Oh yeah, and that Sibeth actress is obviously having an affair with someone from the writers staff. Her character's plot armor of unseen proportions is just beyond reasonable. At this point, if Haniwa was to shoot her at point-blank range, I wouldn't be surprised to see her morphing back like some T-1000 terminator. She's definitely living through some kinda Groundhog Day. Deserves a spin-off of its own, if you ask me.

This must be a joke.

With the exception of one or two episodes, this series has had impeccable writing. Fantastic from the beginning...Until this episode. Hot garbage. It's like the dialogue was from a really bad made for TV movie. It would take real effort to come up with something this horrendous. It had no consideration for the tone and feel the other episodes so beautifully set up. The script writers seemed to know nothing about the characters we have come to love and hate over the last 2 seasons. Truly sloppy. It is probably unfair to say that this one poorly written episode has ruined two and a half seasons of fantastic story writing and universe building. But It did. I wish I could un-See this episode.

Say it isn't so...!

Been following along. Hopeful third season. Excusing the deliberate(?) plot hole so far.

Been ignoring even the Queen Maghra irritation more.

But... secret mission to destroy bombs, so get there bit don't destroy the bombs (do the writes really think such a prank really works to keep it going? Guess must. Average 8th grade mentality wouldn't notice. Only keep mouth breathing).

But, really. End up with an epic siege. They kill all the troops, but couldn't get the bombs. Ah, right. Oh, and then, out of all the troops destroyed, but Tormada disappears. Of course he does! (instant plot material continuing).

And then, just for more no reason absurdity, some reaction in writing better than sense I guess, Tofu burns the only library. Haniwa even tries to shoot him. But Tofu, sporting his "sideshow Bob" hairdo, Can't believe she wouldn't want it all burned! I mean why object to nonsense? Of all the nerve Haniwa.

So... looks like back to plot holes, and no one objects. Carry on!
