Simple, Heartwarming and Honest
apnarushu15 September 2022
I attended the World Premiere of Kacchey Limbu at TIFF 2022. I am not a film critic, just a fan of good cinema. Knowing nothing about the movie or the director, I was genuinely surprised to see an honest, heartwarming and fun movie.

Growing up in Mumbai with a younger sibling and the abundance of Gully Cricket, I could completely relate to each and every aspect of the film, which made it an even interesting experience. The movie is not really about cricket as much as it is about friends and family, especially friends who become family. Big kudos to Shubham Yogi, Radhika Madan, Rajat Barmecha and Ayush Mehra for their honest approach to the story and an even bigger shoutout to the incredibly talented supporting cast, each and every one has done a brilliant job and are characters straight from my childhood. Special mention to the actor who plays the Society Office Guy - I wish I knew his name - my man is hilarious and steals the show every time he's on screen.

Kacchey Limbu is simple and honest cinema. And we need more honest Hindi cinema. It may not have big names attached to it but that's the whole point - in a world full of superstars, you better watch out for the underdogs.

I'm glad I was able to personally share some of these thoughts with Director Shubham Yogi after the screening. More power to all the Kacchey Limbus out there!

KACCHEY LIMBU:-a heartwarming film about sibling love and sweet feud

Kacchey limbu is a family drama film directed by shubham yogi.

Radhika madan acts her heart out in this film. Her emotions, dialogue delivery, the smallest of nuances is on point. Rajat barmecha and ayush mehra too give a strong performance.

The writing is middling. There is no proper arc to any character beside aditi's. Akash chooses to take a job instead of playing ranji if aditi and her team beats his in the underarm tournament. How does this choice make any sense, if he is so passionate about playing cricket. Aditi gets a closure, she finally stops taking everyone's advice and orders. Every other characters is wasted. The screenplay is entertaining to watch. The cricket matches are superbly shot. The cinematography is good. There are some exceptional shots. For eg:-when the small kid hits one for a six, the camera follows it to the banner, looked pretty good.

The dialogues and background score are good. The bgm uses the claps as an effective means during the cricket matches to up the ante.

The character of akash's love interest is very unnecessary. It pains me to see that hindi cinema has still not learnt the art of inculcating stand up in their films.

I rate it 8 out of 10.

It was heartwarming, inspiring, and well-made.

The movie resonated with me because it showed the importance of following your passion and making bold decisions to pursue a life of purpose. It was easy for me to connect with the characters because their stories were similar to me, and it helped me to gain clarity in my own life. Aayush and Radhika's performances were simply outstanding. Story was very much predictable but writers and director showcased it in a very unique perspective,Overall, I thought Kachchey Limbu was a great film. The music in the film was also great. It was catchy and upbeat, and it really helped to set the tone of the film. It was heartwarming, inspiring, and well-made. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good drama.
