- After an encounter with his high school bully, a college senior embarks on an exciting journey of self-discovery.
- Adam Cross (Brandon Hilton) is a lonely, scholarship award-winning senior in college who only wants to feel accepted. He is rather dull and socially awkward, and he doesn't have any friends except for the books he reads. His momentous lifestyle takes an unexpected turn after an encounter with Jason, his bully from high school. The encounter triggers a painful and disturbing past: an abusive, alcoholic father; his mother who killed herself; and Todd (Jason Mac), his older brother who's up for parole. Inspired by the gothic drag queen Eve who performs at the local gay club Midnight Cabaret, Adam decides to reinvent himself by changing from geek to chic overnight. He then befriends a few punks, Daniel (Justin Younts), Ricky (Kevin Cleys) and Travis (Clay Williams), who introduce him to a wild lifestyle filled with crime and drugs. It isn't long before Adam discovers his new friends, who happen to be acquaintances with Todd and Jason, are a part of a serious drug ring in town. Now, Todd is out of prison and wants to go back to living the dangerous lifestyle, despite the fact that most of his friends from his past have either died or were imprisoned for longer sentences. Jason, who has completely changed and straightened his life is now about to graduate college, tries to convince Todd otherwise, but Todd has revengeful plans of his own. Even after Jason's desperate pleas and his concern for Adam's safety, Adam continues down a dangerous downward spiral, and his life eventually changes for the worse. He loses inspiration to finish college and receives failing grades and winds up losing his scholarships and the chance to graduate on time. What keeps him going is his frequent visits to see Eve perform, for it's her mesmerizing energy and stage presence that has him captivated and inspired, and the illusion that his new friends are real friends he can trust. Daniel, the leader of the group, has a selfish, obnoxious and controlling nature and only digs Adam deeper in the hole. Adam becomes despondent and grows cold, and even though the memories of his father abusing him aren't as strong, Adam could care less about his dying father who is now trying to make amends with him. In the end, after a serious, unexpected and life-changing event takes place, Adam has no other choice but to learn what is truly important, and through this journey he discovers who he really is.
