As the Allies sweep across Germany, Lore leads her siblings on a journey that exposes them to the truth of their parents' beliefs. An encounter with a mysterious refugee forces Lore to rely on a person she has always been taught to hate.
While I don't think the acting is always up to the task (not the child actors mind you, they are really good!), the story itself is really interesting. You may argue about some of the dialog (true), but hopefully this won't ruin the movie for you (tough to say how it translates, though the acting will not be a problem there, be it subtitles or dubbing for that matter).
The story line is not that clear, but it is easy to follow, with friends and relatives having and keeping things from each other. Kids can be mean (in this case a running theme), but will they better themselves as adults? Will they be able to overcome what happened and live on? You'll be the judge of that ...
