Gws vs Ess, at GIANTS Stadium.

Parish in for Essendon. Coniglio kicks the first for the Giants, they then get an instantaneous downfield goal from a bump, meh. Langford slot a good set-shot from the pocket, the Giants up 2 at the quarter break. The Bombers bring back a deficit late in the 2nd, the Giants lead again by 2 at the half. Guelfi kicks his third, but the Giants extend the lead out to 13 at 3-quarter time. Essendon's scoring drying up since the half and Hogan slots his fourth to seal the deal halfway through the 4th. The Giants handily won the hit-outs and were +6 in clearances, with more of the footy and more tackles applied. The Giants had 15 more inside 50's, for 7 more scoring shots. Whitfield best afield, with 29 disposals, 5 inside 50's, 5 intercepts, 544 metres gained, a goal and assist. Hogan 17 disposals, 3 contested marks and 4 goals. Taylor 13 effective disposals, 2 contested marks and 9 intercepts. For Essendon, Parish 28 disposals, 7 clearances, 6 inside 50's, 6 tackles, 5 intercepts and an assist. Guelfi 2 contested marks and 4 goals.
