Storyline
Did you know
- GoofsEveryone forgot that Flambeau moved to America, "permanently". Nobody asks what brought him back. No-one is surprised to read that he is on a crime spree in Europe, or that he returned to England and didn't contact the Father. And he felt the need to explain that he wasn't in Europe when the artwork was stolen.

It's always great to see John Light back as Flambeau.
The Flambeau episode, it's a bit like seeing The Daleks in Doctor Who, the star villain, but one that may have been somewhat guilty of being overused.
In this instance though, Flambeau's presence really did work, John Light was excellent as always, he always adds something.
The storyline was a very good one, and it made a nice change for Flambeau to be The hunted, as opposed to The hunter.
Some very good scenes between Father Brown and Inspector Sullivan, a bit of venom in some of those lines. I was about to say the episode had a slightly more serious tone, apart from one ridiculous scene, not sure I need to explain the one, but Mrs Devine disguised as Father Brown...no words.
Overall, great to have Flambeau back, good storyline, and one absurd moment, it's why we love Father Brown.
7/10.
