A narrative exactly like your mind
muhammadjrahpeyma5 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I watched it today for the second time , ]]]]first time i didn't like it very much but second time it got better, The story was not useful ,it was a adaption of two books and don't represent a very sophisticated meaning or philosophy ]but the thing that shocked me was just narrative , it was new and perfect. i liked it. you know when you remember something it comes alternative into your mind sometimes when you are describing a memory some Scene comes to your mind twice, and in this movie Mosafa completely followed this rule and it worked, it was a united movie . but i wish Mosafa worked on characters more and didn't perform in this movie , the kitchen scene was awful, Leila acted good but he didn't,and actually there is a problem for me, why the Kitchen scene became different from the first one, you know in this movie some scene repeated like this kitchen scene but they were not same and i don't know why, the make up and set decoration and costume were perfect especially Leila. and i love the directing of the scene that Leila was a child and she was talking about Issa, the camera was behind the window and it was beautiful and stick with you.

step by step, to the last step!
abbmoradi25 October 2012
Sitting on my chair at Mercury Cinema, i was not that optimistic about the feature being even worth the time and money, specially when you see that the director is also the writer and lead actor! and i didn't feel any better for the first couple of minutes, but things changed!

Ali Mosaffa has gift wrapped the story to gradually unfold it before your eyes, and with peeling off each layer you constantly feel surprised and eager to learn what's next! Things that looks stupid and awkward in the beginning gradually starts to make sense and deeply touch the viewer.

The film has frequent symbolic references which is a signature for many Iranian movies, The beautiful and otherwise "perfect" house with the lame 'last step' resembles every seemingly "perfect" thing in life spoiled by an unwelcome imperfection - including the life itself, it's like Mosaffa has pictured death, the Last Step to any life, as the ultimate imperfection!

The film had so much to offer, and didn't leave me high and dry in the end, and fortunately it's 'imperfections' didn't rob me off the joy of watching it.

I saw this movie today

I haven't seen this movie for 12 years, today I chose it randomly from my movie archive and saw it, from the beginning to the end of the movie i sat there and felt every single sequence You could feel Khosrow's feelings in the film because at the same time as the sequence I was watching, Khosrow was also narrating her own story and opinion, and this helped a lot to understand the story. (feminine) You could feel Khosrow's feelings in the movie because at the same time as the sequence I was watching Khosrow was also narrating his own story and opinion and this helped a lot to understand the story... What a movie ...!!!!

It's a wonderful movie....
