When Jason is picking up his clothes after sleeping with Ms. Steeler, he smells his shoe. This is a callback to Ms. Steeler's cat (Prince Charming) peeing in her ex's shoes, allegedly because the cat doesn't like to share.
The store Jessica is shopping in is called "Tracy's Toggs." This is a reference to the store in the book called "Tara's Toggs." In the books, the shop is actually owned by Tara Thornton and located in a strip mall owned by Bill Compton.
In this episode, Steve Newlin mentions Elvis being spotted. In the books, Elvis is a vampire named Bubba. He was moments from death, but still had life in him. The mortician, who was a vampire, made him one. Because of all the drugs in his system and how close he was to death, he came over "not right". So he is mostly used for errands and security sometimes. He mostly lives off of eating cats. He does not even like being recognized as or called Elvis.
