Sex & Nudity

  • There are many sexual references and innuendos; very much more-so than the season's predecessor, Bakemonogatari.
  • It is implied that a girl sexually assaults a boy, only thing shown is the boy's shirt and pants being thrown off. This is played for comedy.
  • Koyomi is well known as "perverted" as the show proceeds.

Violence & Gore

  • The Blu-Ray version is ALOT more gory since you see the acts of violence happening onscreen
  • A fair amount of violence, but most of it happens offscreen.

Profanity

  • A brief case of "shit" and reference to the f-word, though is not verbally used.
  • Not much, but still present.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In the first couple of episodes, a boy is invited to a girl's house and she offers him alcoholic chocolates, which he rejects.
  • None.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • The protagonist's younger sister is shown topless after getting her upper body blown off. It is later revealed that she has regenerative powers as she is a phoenix, which is why her breasts can even be seen in the first place.

Violence & Gore

  • It is implied that a girl is cut in half by a forceful beating, but due to certain regenerative powers, she is shown fine later on.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A girl is implied to be drugged by an older man, which is depicted with trippy patterns and psychedelic imagery. The man is the main antagonist of the specified arc.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Disturbing/unsettling imagery is shown throughout (a girl falls ill because of this, and her life is put in serious danger... she survives the ordeal).
