Thierry Beccaro, upon whose life and whose book the film is based, plays his own role in the film, making it autobiographical in a sense.
Upon its initial airing in France, the film was part of a thematic evening on abused children, being immediately followed by a 58 minute long debate on the topic entitled "Enfants Maltraités: Se Reconstruire Après la Violence" ("Abused Children: Rebuilding Yourself After the Violence"), moderated by Julian Bugier and featuring among others Thierry Beccaro, the subject and lead actor of the film, magistrate and children's judge Édouard Durand and Laura Morin, the head of an organization helping children dealing with abuse. The thematic evening concluded with a 70 minute documentary focused on Durand's work and featuring Beccaro, as part of Infrarouge (2006), entitled "Bouche Cousue" ("Sealed Lips"), directed by Karine Dusfour and produced by Mélissa Theuriau.
