Two of the local private security guards who took care of the equipment during filming were assassinated in the same neighborhood of the filming, before finishing shooting days. Nearby to the shooting place is the location used in the film.
The main star (Jesús Charris, "Breiner") was actually obligated to leave the city because of violent encounters he ended up involved in, related to gangs.
The original story was written for one of the writers, who was 16 years old at the time and lives in one of the most dangerous places in Soledad, called Ciudad Bolívar ("Bolivar City"). "Soledad", the main town used as to select locations, means "Loneliness" in English.
This is the first film ever depicting the Colombian Caribbean Spanish dialect.
