Darn it. It missed the mark.

I REALLY wanted to love this show. I looked for it, recording every episode. But darn...what a let down.

The premise is wonderful; take garments, remnants, cast offs and even household items like bags and even an inflatable mattress, then turn on your imagination and make new, wearable items.

Wonderful! Keeping items from landfills is terrific! How can you lose?!

But...oh wow. Boring, non-unified, going nowhere.

Where did the hosts come from? What is their actual expertise?

They don't judge the contestants in a consistent way, relying more on favoritism.

And the hosts' over the top gushing (in the most stereotypical and fake means) was beyond annoying.

I wanted sooo much to like the hosts but they had no connection with the show, audience or even themselves. They were rehashed stereotypes, without actual personalities behind them.

I wanted them to own their silliness but they stumbled and nearly apologized for being.

That's not cool.

I wanted them to know their stuff, own who they are, and be strong in their guidance to the "designers" competing on the show.

The focus was obviously "hip & trendy" "edgy street ware" focusing on the 16-29 age range only.

That's never going to sustain.

True designers have to be able to appeal to other groups besides "edgy" kids. (As they are the ones sans cash.) "Hip & trendy" also gives the ideas / fashions a shelf life. They're only trendy until the trend falls from favor.

Maybe a second season with actual rules for judging creations against each other?

Maybe hosts gaining a little more SELF confidence?

And MUCH MORE ENERGY!
