overall good show
calebpaez-9601926 April 2023
Some contestants were a little to much, and yes at times they could be childish, but I think the show is fun for thise who want it. Some people think jeopardy is just for super smart people, so its nice that they have celebs on. I think it should be renewed, but maybe moved to an earlier time slot. I do believe they coild find a different shoe to put on in prime time, or maybe move it to a Monday. I still think kts a great program, with a decent host, and okay contestants. So I look forward to seeing the show back this fall.

I don't know what else to put here, because theres a minimum character limit. So I'm just using this fill the space.

This show is horrible!!!!!

I watch every episode of Jeopardy. I love that show! This celebrity version is not that show. This celebrity version is an insult to Jeopardy fans everywhere. The regular Jeopardy has 61 questions over a1/2 hour. The celeb version has 3 rounds with a total of 91 questions over 1 hour. The questions are dumbed down, even in the third round. In the second episode the celebs made stupid comments between every question/answer. They were attempting to be funny. They were not. This show has no respect for the game. Mayim acts like she is hosting a party game in her living room. Of the first 6 celebs, only two could compete on the celebrity episodes that were hosted by Alex Trebek. This trash would not be on television if Alex were still with us. No season 2.

Awful version of a classic game show
Zhivagommii4 October 2022
Jeopardy is my version of doing crossword puzzles to sharpen my mind. This celebrity version is totally mindless. The questions are absolutely juvenile. I can easily answer almost every clue. It is as if it was designed for a twelve year old. It is such a dumbed down version of the real show. And, the so called celebs spend so much time trying to be cute and entertaining it is just annoying. These celebs are little known and are auditioning for affection and attention at the expense of the show. It is really sad to see people so desperate for attention.

I think it is a disgrace that Jeopardy approved this show. I know it can be better in time.

An absolute waste of an hour. Most childish show ever designed for adults?

I was really looking forward to this program. First episode was bad and the second even worse. Other than episode one's Simu Liu, everyone else can't really be called celebrities. Then, they're stupid as hell. Second episode I knew every single answer and they just stood there with blank looks on their faces. Plus, all the questions were extremely soft balls and yet they didn't answer or were wrong. They act like they're drunk and treat the program like an improv comedy show. I couldn't cancel it off my DVR recording list fast enough. Couldn't take another minute! What a dumpster fire of a miss!

Fire your publicists, it's an utter embarrassment
stephengibbons-224 April 2023
Remember when SNL imagined Jeopardy with vapid, ignorant celebrities?

Well ABC straight up stole the idea.

Watch as millionaires stare blankly at the cameras when asked questions like "Who is buried in Grant's Tomb".

This is astonishingly bad.

The 30 minute format we all know and love is now a bloated affair, 30 minutes is now collectively spent between rounds as the host makes inane small talk with the dumbest contestants ever. You'll be yelling at your TV halfway through episode one.

None of these people know how to play the game, their wagers are a joke, "true daily doubles" almost never occur because they're all afraid to go big.

Also, was Mayim EVER interesting or charismatic?

She's pleasant enough but man is she a bore.

Triple Jeopardy is a nice touch though so there's that.

Viewers of regular Jeopardy probably don't need this show
Piperson30 January 2023
It seems as if there is a market for shows that are played for fun rather than as a genuine contest and this is one of them. It looks like the contestants are encouraged to joke around. Mayim Bialik is encouraged to giggle irrepressibly. As the host on regular Jeopardy, this quality was distracting and made her seem nervous and uncomfortable. The question is why is she nervous and uncomfortable now? Maybe because she is embarrassed to be on a show where the questions are dumb and the contestants are dumber.

Regular Jeopardy is a great show when the questions are challenging and the contestants are brilliant. This show can't measure up.

Complete waste of a good idea
DaKiefB7 January 2023
Nothing turns me off more than having a special Jeopardy where it's just celebrities jerking each other off answering questions about other celebrities.

So many categories are about which actor did this, starred in this show, or also does this. It's like the more these guys know each other the better they will do on the show.

The questions are also rather simple. I will say no more than 15% of the questions are actually stumpers. I don't feel engaged at all with the celebrities when I keep answering a long with them when most of the questions are basic knowledge or hard not to know clues.

Lastly, did they run out of celebrities because so many of these "celebrities" just have 1 Netflix show that no one has heard of them or the show. When I said the celebrities jerk each other off, they did this constantly with the after break interviews always asking about what tv show/movie they are working on now and who they get to work with. Really? Just one time talk about them outside of Hollywood. Nope, they won't do it.

Only reason I give it 2 stars because there were a few select individuals who do seem out of their league compared to their opposition.

Hasan Minhaj Irritates
quockquock31 October 2022
Are there any older Jeopardy employees still around? How could they sit back and let these "celebrities" just ruin this 50 plus year old show and it's premise? I've seen 6 episodes so far and I think that will about do it for me. Hasan Minhaj was the worst experience with Jeopardy that I have seen in my 40 years of watching this show. He absolutely ruined this episode and also the entire premise. When you have to Google the names of the "celebrities" to find out who they are... they are NOT celebrities. I can't believe they aired the Hasan episode or someone didn't just say "Shut up and just answer the clues Hasan". I know I did.

The Answer is "100"
amexspam30 October 2022
The Question: If you added up the total IQ points of every celebrity contestant, how many points would you have?

"When television is good, nothing is better. But when television is bad, nothing is worse. Sit in front of your television sets for a day, without distraction. I can assure you that what you will observe is a vast wasteland."
  • Newton Minow
.

BTW For the 90% that dislike the disfigurement of this web site's pages - doing away with the reference page view on actors, wikipedia still provides clear and concise summaries; much better than the garbage pages now shown here that have received nothing but criticism..

Often embarrassing ...
VetteRanger21 January 2023
... for some of the celebrities. Some of them look completely clueless, giving ridiculous answers to really easy clues. And when they don't do that, they don't pay enough attention to the clue.

You have to understand these clues are WAY dumbed down and some of the celebrities STILL can't perform. The show tried to make them look good, and failed.

However, a few of the celebrities are well-rounded people just like most contestants and fans, and can drive through some of the contestant categories showing that at least THEY have as much common knowledge as anyone you might know. LOL

We've seen through the second semi-final round, and so far both people who advanced to the final did a decent job on the show.

And yes, a FEW of the celebrities act out so much they make utter fools of themselves thinking they're cute but really just annoying the hell out of most viewers. Thankfully, all of those lost ... mostly by WIDE margins.

You have to be kidding me.

Who is the moron who green lit this show. "I'll take Answers I know the Questions to for $500."

They seriously had to ask them about topics they have an interest in before putting Questions together.

I've no idea what else to say about this show. They want me to write another 300 characters. I don't know that I have another 273 beyond typing "this sucks" over and over again.

What Is A Lesser Version, Alex?
atlasmb19 January 2024
This sister show to "Jeopardy!" is a pale imitation, but it can be entertaining if you happen to like a particular celebrity contestant.

But the answers are easier than in regular "Jeopardy!". In fact, they are easier than the college and teen versions of the show.

The primary drawback is that the celebrity contestants, feeling self-conscious about their relative lack of knowledge, feel compelled to chat incessantly or make jokes throughout the game.

There is one thing I enjoy about this version: there is a Triple Jeopardy round with even higher valued squares, including more Daily Double squares.
