Funny at first but gets dull and boring

"Amachan" tells the teenager Aki's challenges as she grow. Actually it is pretty well known story but it has a fresh element to it at the beginning because Aki want to become something that I even did not now that is existed: an Amasan. The different setting which is in a rural northern area of Japan, this interesting profession and usually predictable but funny lines made the show enjoyable until around 40th episode.

Even before that I had lots to tolerate though: cliché screenplay, bad acting and obviously didactic conversations. Cliché screenplay was the easiest to tolerate because there are not too many shows that are not cliché anyways. Also as I said the show had some interesting elements like setting and culture. Bad acting is the harsh reality in Japanese TV series and this show is no exception. Most of the young actors, including the main ones, are just annoying. There were just a few exceptions like the veteran actor who played the grandmother. Still, they did not have the most of the parts anyway. And lastly, the show was obviously giving us the viewers advice in many of the episodes as the children's books do. I would rather a little bit of subtlety.

After around the 40th episode the script just goes stupid and slow. The cues becomes ridiculously obvious. So, when I watch an episode I don't even need my imagination to guess what will happen in the next one.
