- Allies turn the tide in the Atlantic, where initially German U-Boats harass freely convoys to supply Britain. The Kriegsmarine calls off their submarines. The route to bring American soldiers who will land on D-Day is clear.
- This is Episode 7 in a one-season series. This episode highlights the Royal Air Force's and U.S. Army's 8th Air Force's bombings of Germany in 1943 and '44. Included is a comparison of daylight bombing versus nighttime raids, the advances made in RADAR technology, and the devestation on Germany's civilian population. There was much debate amongst the allies not only between day versus night, but also between carpet bombing on cities versus targetted bombing of industrial sites.
One of the more intersting items: in order to confuse German radar, the RAF dropped shredded aluminum foil from their aircraft. Perhaps one could consider this and primitve "stealth" technology.
Another technological advancement was mating the British Rolls Royce engine with the US's P-51 Mustang, making it the faster prop-driven fighter in the European Theatre.
This episode also reviews the sinking of the Bismark and the naval war in the North Sea.
