So, we are heading quickly towards WWE’s second May PPV, Extreme Rules, and there are lots of rematches from Payback likely to happen at that show. I hope this doesn’t mean the product will be stale for the next month or so, but we shall see.

Howdy wrestling fans, and a big thanks to Aaron Oster and James Montgomery for tending to the homestead while I was off for last week's Raw and Payback spectacles. And I have no idea why I'm aping cowboy parlance, or if that's even appropriate while recapping a show that went down in Omaha. But in the interest of corralling my thoughts, let's look toward Extreme Rules.

So, we just had WWE Payback and now we enter a new week of WWE… Let’s go.
Raw (2nd May 2016) Results: Cesaro and Kevin Owens wrestled to a no-contest Tyler Breeze pinned Goldust Big Cass & The New Day beat The Dudleys and The Vaudevillains Emma beat Becky Lynch Rusev won a Battle Royale to become number one contender to the Us Title Aj Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson beat Roman Reigns & The Usos
Raw opened this week with Shane and Stephanie talking about being co-runners of Raw. Stephanie gave Shane a photograph of Vince and Shane together as a peace offering. The two appeared to agree to work together. Kevin Owens interrupted and demanded a match for the Intercontinental Title. Cesaro then came to the ring to ask for the same thing. So, the post-WrestleMania PPV, Payback, has happened (over a week ago now) and it was a night of good, bad and in-between but it was fresh and had a feel of something new, like WWE are making an effort to build new stars (finally).
Results: Kick-Off Show: Kalisto retained his Us Title against Ryback Kick-Off Show: Dolph Ziggler beat Baron Corbin The Vaudevillains and Enzo & Big Cass went to a no-contest Kevin Owens pinned Sami Zayn The Miz beat Cesaro to retain his I-c Title Dean Ambrose beat Chris Jericho Charlotte retained her Women’s Title against Natalya via ref stoppage Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Title against Aj Styles
The PPV started with the Kick-Off show. The Corbin/Ziggler match felt like a typical television match and featured Ziggler bumping around for Corbin. Strangely, Ziggs won the match. The other Kick-Off match was much better than expected.

WWE Hell In A Cell was an okay show, which managed to hit the “very good” levels for the two main cell matches. It was a night in which titles changed and narratives closed, meaning the company has moved forward to a fresher looking future ahead of Survivor Series.
Several wrestlers can now look forward to new horizons in the short and long term, with the Cell also laying some ground work for April’s WrestleMania. As for the shorter term, several of WWE’s booking choices were designed with a rejuvenating effect in mind. The hope internally will be that changes made at Hell In A Cell will result in new intrigue for Monday night Raw.
The ratings in recent weeks have desperately needed a boost, so Hell In A Cell was designed to re-shuffle the deck a little. In several key areas, the future now looks that little bit different,...

Okay, so it’s time for one of those B-shows of the annual WWE calendar, Payback, a show that, on-paper, sounds okay, but isn’t offering too much in terms of fresh or exciting new feuds in my view. We’ll see how the matches go, shall we?
The opening match of Payback sees Sheamus taking on Dolph Ziggler. These two top-class workers wrestled at the Extreme Rules pay per view too, and I’ve seen them wrestle so many times over the years, yet I was happy to see it again here at Payback. The two of them have chemistry that is undeniable, and in my view, this match, along with the tag team title match that I’ll talk about shortly, stole the show. Just a great back and forth contest that saw the heel Sheamus defeat a bloody Ziggler with his brogue kick. Excellent match.

WrestleMania 31, the WWE’s biggest event of the year is over and we arrive at Extreme Rules, the pay per view that WWE claim is their time once a year to “go extreme”. The PG era has meant that “extreme” in the current WWE climate is very different to what it meant back in Ecw or during WWE’s TV-14 run, but there’s still some interesting stuff booked for this PPV, so let’s see how it all plays out.

Big Show is one of the oldest active wrestlers in WWE, but he’s still a big part of storylines. After putting over Roman Reigns in a very good match at Extreme Rules last month, Show has been off TV. The plan was to keep him off for the three weeks between Extreme Rules and Payback. Then they would bring him back after that. However, there was no sign of Show on Raw or Smackdown this week.
The word on Show is that there’s no injury. It’s just a matter of creative having nothing for him on Raw. Show is still due to return any week now and if it doesn’t happen at the Elimination Chamber PPV on May 31 then his return may be delayed until June according to the Wrestling Observer.

The opening match on the “Kick-off” show saw Stardust lose to R-Truth. A “surprise” match, this was little more than what we see each week on television, and did nothing for either of them really. Truth winning is pretty silly, and goes further into showing how far Cody has fallen since a couple of years ago when he was getting monster pops alongside his brother, Goldust, in tag title matches with The Shield. Oh dear. The second kick-off match saw Damien “Macho Mandow” Sandow and Curtis “Axelmania” Axel, dressed as Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan, take on The Ascension. I’m not...

This week’s Raw will likely feature a lot of build up to the Elimination Chamber event taking place on May 31.
With only two weeks of TV to build to the show, WWE will probably announce the six competitors in the Intercontinental Title match to be held in the Elimination Chamber as well as what we expect to be the six teams in the Tag Team Title Elimination Chamber match as well.
For the Intercontinental Title match, no names have been officially announced, although some of the rumored participants are Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, King Barrett and Neville. They could add Ryback and Bray Wyatt to it so that they would have three Payback feuds as a part of the Chamber match. Sheamus has been listed as the Ic Champion in listings for WWE live events although that doesn’t always mean it is official. Sheamus is definitely a...

This Sunday night on WWE Network and pay-per-view, WWE presents the third annual Payback event from Baltimore, Maryland. While Payback is not considered a major show by any means, it has potential to be pretty good.
If you look at this event strictly from an in-ring perspective, it could be excellent. With seven matches on the PPV portion of the show, that means that three or four of the matches could get over 15 minutes and if that happens then the quality of those matches will be very high.
It’s noteworthy that four of the matches are rematches from Extreme Rules. Those are Cena vs. Rusev (for the fourth straight PPV), Sheamus vs. Ziggler, New Day vs. Cesaro/Kidd and Barrett vs. Neville. Having four matches that are exactly same as the last PPV three weeks ago means that we might get some finality to some of these...

This month is full of WWE special events. On Sunday night it’s the annual May pay-per-view event (also on WWE Network) called Payback. Then on Wednesday May 20 it’s one of the four Nxt two hour live specials on WWE Network and this one is called Nxt Takeover: Unstoppable. This past Monday WWE announced another May special event that is exclusive to WWE Network that is called Elimination Chamber.
The question today is what one of these three events do you care about the most? Here’s a quick overview of the three shows.
Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.
Payback on May 17
With a headline match of Seth Rollins defending the WWE Title against Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose there’s a chance that could be an outstanding match to end the night.

This week’s Raw was the last episode before Payback, so we got a better sense of what to expect from the PPV on Sunday night. What was interesting is that it looks like WWE has a full card ready, but they have advertised six matches officially with a couple of others very likely to take place.
Keep in mind that WWE is taping Smackdown tonight, so they will probably make other matches official at that show.
Here are the six matches that are official as well as notes on the others that are likely going to take place.
WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose – It’s a fatal fourway match where the first fall gets the win. A stipulation was added on Raw by Triple H where he told Kane that if Rollins doesn’t leave Payback as WWE Champion...

Extreme Rules is over and now the road to WWE Payback is here. We already know the main event of the May 17 PPV is going to be Seth Rollins defending the WWE Title against Randy Orton and Roman Reigns while John Cena will have one more match with Rusev, which will be an I Quit match. Those matchups aren’t that fresh or new, but that’s how WWE is these days. The product just isn’t that exciting right now.
It’s not necessarily a talent problem. There are so many talented performers in WWE on both the main roster and Nxt. The problem, most of the time, revolves around the creative team. They just don’t do a very good job of putting together storylines that are exciting or worth going out of your way to see. It’s the same basic stuff all the time.

With Extreme Rules over and Payback coming up only three weeks later, WWE has already set the stage for some of the big matches at their annual May PPV. This week’s edition of Smackdown helped to further those storylines while not really setting up new rivalries.
There was a pretty big main event on Smackdown that WWE should have advertised because Seth Rollins taking on Dean Ambrose is a big match. WWE didn’t mention it on Raw. This is the kind of thing that is confusing because if you’re going to put on a big match like that you should promote it heavily. Instead, they didn’t even mention it.
It was also concerning that Smackdown was down about 300,000 viewers this week on Syfy. Thursday was supposed to lead to a bigger audience for the “blue brand” yet it really hasn’t happened. It’s...

Without doubt, the recent spur-of-the-moment King of the Ring tournament could have been handled infinitely better – as in actually advertised, built up and given significance in the weeks prior – but all is now said and done and we have a new King in the form of Wade Barrett.
Barrett may have been the predictable choice for the crown, but he was also likely the best choice out of the superstars involved in the two-night tournament. With his Intercontinental Title match pulled from the recent Extreme Rules show due to Daniel Bryan’s injury situation, winning King of the Ring was a decent compensation prize for the Englishman.
The former leader of both the Nexus and the Corre has had an up and down WWE career to date, having had his time in the main event scene, held multiple mid-card titles, yet had various unfortunate injury setbacks that seem...

Extreme Rules is one of the loudest nights of the year, fans barely having time to catch their breath between the cracks of kendo sticks, the sickening thump of steel on flesh and the crunch of bodies being driven through splintering wood.
This year’s Extreme Rules is in the books and, despite a flaccid buildup, delivered a consistently entertaining night of accomplished wrestling and hardcore shenanigans, as much as can be reasonably expected in the PG era.
There were memorable moments throughout, from Sheamus’ brilliant booked cowardice, to Ambrose and Harper’s jaunt around the city, to Big Show and Roman Reigns shocking everyone by putting on the match of the night. Seriously, how did That happen?
In fact, you couldn’t really classify any of the matches as outright stinkers. Even the somewhat lethargic main event had its moments, up until the confusing finish.

It’s the news that we were all expecting but didn’t want to see. Daniel Bryan was pulled from the Extreme Rules pre show due to injury a matter of hours before the show was due to start.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion was pulled from the show because of mounting injury problems that are preventing him from stepping in the ring. Little in the way of details has been released but he was recently pulled from the company’s UK tour for a similar reason and now seems set for a lengthy layoff.
It’s heartbreaking to see. As soon as he’s been given a couple of major pushes in the last year, his battered body has got in the way and robbed him of creating a true legacy in the WWE.
It’s heartbreaking in the sense that all of his hard work is going to waste.

Expectations weren’t exactly high for WWE’s Extreme Rules going in: with two WrestleMania rematches and the show’s increasing redundancy in the PG Era, most fans were simply anticipating an episode of “Sunday Night Raw”. In fact, that was pretty much on the money: Extreme Rules ended up being one of the worst WWE PPVs in recent memory, though the sheer weirdness of so many booking decisions at least made it more memorable than many thought possible.
For starters, there’s the fact that almost every match had a dubious finish, be it straight-up Vince Russo-style booking or simply lazily in-ring storytelling (there was at least one roll-up finish too many), though on the other hand, the strangeness of it all will certainly have a lot of fans (even those who just watch the PPVs) tuning into the next few shows with the hope of some explanations.

In the main event, WWE World Champion Seth Rollins will defend the gold against Randy Orton inside a steel cage. Stipulations include the Rko, Orton’s exciting finisher, being banned and Kane serving as the guardian of the gate to prevent outside interference. Dolph Ziggler has posted a lengthy rant on his twitter. It appears to take some veiled shoot digs at Sheamus, the man he’ll be facing this Sunday at WWE’s Extreme Rules event. It also appears to express frustration with his own spot in the company.

“I’ve got the boyz to make the noize! Years in the marking, almost as long as we’ve been waiting for you to connect! Trust me, he connects. Frustrated, outdated, I really wanna be overrated. Dolph Ziggler has posted a lengthy rant on his twitter. It appears to take some veiled shoot digs at Sheamus, the man he’ll be facing this Sunday at WWE’s Extreme Rules event. It also appears to express frustration with his own spot in the company.
The post in full –
“I’ve got the boyz to make the noize! Years in the marking, almost as long as we’ve been waiting for you to connect! Trust me, he connects. Frustrated, outdated, I really wanna be overrated. This Sunday’s Extreme Rules PPV main event is something WWE bills as the only night of the year where things go extreme. It’s their way of saying that pretty much every match has a stipulation, but it’s not like it is the only PPV like that. The last TLC PPV had a lot of stipulations too. That’s just typical WWE where they like to forget things.
As diehard wrestling fans, we don’t like to forget things. We want to do things and watch things to remind us of why we are watching in the first place. That’s why whenever there’s a PPV event it’s fun to take a look back at some matches from the past that are good to check out (on WWE Network, of course) as a way to preview the matches that we’re going to see on Sunday.

WWE Smackdown was filmed this week from Providence, Rhode Island. Seth Rollins got things started with a promo about his match with Orton at Extreme Rules. Kane then came out and continued to trade hostile words with Rollins. He said that it was time to return the favour of laying down for him.
A ref came out and the match started. Rollins was angry at first but eventually went down to be pinned. However, Kane laughed and said he was just messing with him. It was ruled a no contest.
Instead, Kane announced Rollins versus Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe made his entrance but was attacked by Luke Harper. Reigns made the save, which set up the main event for later in the show – Reigns and Ambrose versus Harper and Rollins.
Dolph Ziggler and Neville defeated Sheamus and Bad News Barrett. Ziggler used the Zig Zag and then Neville...

A WWE source has told PWInsider that Daniel Bryan’s injury was expected to take a month to heal. That was the time frame when WWE first sent Bryan home from the European Tour last week. It could still change, with wwe.com currently stating that Bryan is undergoing “diagnostic testing” to determine if he’ll be fit to defend the Intercontinental Title against Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules this Sunday.
The source told PWInsider that the injury occurred on the April 9th event in Dublin, Ireland. The match was Bryan teaming with Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan against the team of Barrett, Sheamus and Bray Wyatt.
There’s no exact word on what the injury was, other than that it was initially thought it would take a month to heal. That’s good in some ways, as four weeks suggest it isn’t anything too bad.

We are a couple of weeks removed, now, from WrestleMania, and we are heading towards WWE’s next PPV, Extreme Rules. The WWE product hasn’t really changed a great deal since a month ago, except for Brock Lesnar no longer being WWE Champion and taking time-off, and different feuds being underway. Mostly though, on television, it’s the same players in many of the same set-ups. Let’s see how tonight plays out, shall we?

Randy Orton berated WWE fans who had gathered at the airport in Albany, New York last night. PWInsider reports that Orton “berated” the fans for bothering the crew after they had just returned to America from Europe. Understandably, Orton was grouchy after a long flight.
The fans had gathered ahead of Raw in Albany. It was said to be a large group at the airport, determined to get photos and autographs. The rights and wrongs of this are complicated. WWE superstars often do stop to sign autographs and take photographs. Indeed, Orton himself was pictured signing autographs when he landed in Glasgow, Scotland a week and a half ago. On that happier occasion, he’d also just been on a long flight.
But right now the WWE crew are tired. They’ve been on tour for eleven straight days and there’s little rest involved. Orton was within...

WWE are promoting Raw’s big selling point this evening as a special announcement from Triple H. This will mark Triple H’s return to television and he will be announcing details of WWE’s new Tough Enough show.
It seem probable that the announcement will be the Tough Enough host. There’s a good possibility that it will be Chris Jericho, although rumours of his involvement are unconfirmed. All that is known for certain is that Stone Cold Steve Austin won’t be returning to Tough Enough, due to what he says are scheduling conflicts.
The promise of a major announcement and Triple H’s return will hopefully lead to an increase in Raw ratings ahead of this coming weekend’s Extreme Rules show. Hunter hasn’t been seen since his victory over Sting at WrestleMania 31. His wife Stephanie won’t be returning just yet as she’s...

Smackdown was taped in London, England this week. The British fans are some of the best in WWE, so it’s always a treat when WWE heads over there.
A lot of the talk coming out of this week’s show was the health of Intercontinental Champion Daniel Bryan. We found out after Smackdown that WWE sent him home on Wednesday due to concern over his neck injury. Even though he was still scheduled for a few more shows as part of the European tour, WWE felt like he should go home. It turns out that he had a concussion rather than a neck injury although his long term status is unknown at this point.
There was no sign of WWE Champion Seth Rollins or his Extreme Rules opponent Randy Orton, so the focus of this week’s Smackdown was all about the other champions.

Daniel Bryan was sent home from WWE’s european tour due to a concussion, reports Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. This was stemming from the rough Sheamus match that Bryan worked on Smackdown two weeks ago.
“He suffered a concussion,” Alvarez states, “there’s concern he had suffered a concussion in the Sheamus match.”
However, Alvarez does state that there could be more to the story. If Bryan had suffered a concussion two weeks ago, why was he working for the first week of this tour? Either it wasn’t initially diagnosed or there’s more to this situation than we know.
In some ways, it is good news to hear that the reason for pulling Bryan was just a concussion. That’s not to say that a concussion isn’t serious, but it certainly isn’t as serious as a neck injury. The initial fear, and...

In a little over a week Randy Orton will face off against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a steel cage at WWE Extreme Rules. Another interesting stipulation for their match is that Randy Orton’s crowd favorite finisher the Rko will be banned from being used. That puts Orton at a disadvantage for sure.
While Seth Rollins is still in the future for Orton at Extreme Rules he has plenty of history to build off of. This Pay-Per-View event has been around for 6 years and The Apex Predator has had a match at every event. He’s fought in a variety of stipulations including Falls Count Anywhere and Last Man Standing while facing off against elite competition such as Batista and Cm Punk. Orton has a split record at the event: 3 wins and 3 losses.

On April 26th, 2015 John Cena will face off against Rusev for the way more coveted as of late U.S. Championship. The pair have both traded wins at the two previous Pay-Per-Views. This third and probably final match in their series will be settled in a Russian Chain Match. If Rusev wants to walk away from the event as U.S. Champion then it might serve him well to study Cena’s efforts in previous Extreme Rules matches.
John Cena has an impressive history at the Extreme Rules event, both in regards to his win-loss record and to his body of work. With 6 years in existence and Cena wrestling a match each year, he has racked up 4 wins, 1 loss, and 1 no contest decision. That lone loss was due to a cage escape decision, one of the most protected ways to lose in the wrestling industry.

With only twelve days to go until WWE presents Extreme Rules 2015, four championship matches are now official for the event, with major stipulations being revealed for two of them last night on Raw.
At the top of the show, John Cena defended his United States Championship against homeboy Bad News Barrett before an attack by old foe Rusev with a chain left Cena down and out. As such, their third and final bout for the belt at Extreme Rules has been dubbed a “Russian Chain” Match, which one supposes will resemble regular chain matches of the past.
One entirely new match for the card will be for the Divas Title after Paige won a 4-minute battle royal last night to become the #1 Contender. She will face Nikki Bella at Extreme Rules, as of this writing. However, speculation as to her exact schedule remains unclear as she’s due...

So, we’re over a year on from the launch of the WWE Network. It launched in the United Kingdom (and some other places that didn’t get it when it initially hit the market) in January (2015) at the price of £9.99. The price-point annoyed plenty of UK consumers who are paying more than the Us customers due to the exchange rate, and WWE not making an effort to offer the UK market an in-line price of around £6.50. It still got plenty of customers though and is one of the reasons that the sign-ups for WWE Network grew at a decent rate in 2015.
Now available in many countries, and expected to launch in those yet to receive it, the WWE Network has received plenty of press since its inception, with much of that being related to its disappointing subscriber numbers, or its very-good amount of content. Yeah, however you slice it,...

The post-WrestleMania season is always a bit of a hit or miss for WWE. There have been some years where the product was really hot following WrestleMania. The year that comes to mind was 2012 when Brock Lesnar came back and they had that awesome Extreme Rules 2012 show in Chicago that year.
This year’s Extreme Rules is also from Chicago. It’s taking place on April 26. The lineup isn’t going to be as strong as it was three years ago, but they are going to give it their best shot with Seth Rollins defending the WWE Title against Randy Orton in the main event and John Cena taking on Rusev again with the Us Title on the line.
What’s been weird about the build is that they haven’t announced any stipulations to the matches. Usually we know the stipulations by this point because the whole reason...

Extreme Rules is WWE’s next pay-per-view pit stop on April 26th, following an epic WrestleMania at the start of the month.
Typically, the event deals with the fallout from the biggest show of the year. Long-standing rivalries are built up to usually be blown off in the most hardcore of circumstances, in the process putting a definitive end to the chapters written before moving on to feuds anew. That’s not always the case of course – but the United States Championship match between John Cena and Rusev will in all likelihood fall into that pigeon-hole for 2015.
Seth Rollins defends his newly-won WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the man who beat him at WrestleMania; Randy Orton, while a host of other matches are set to be announced in the lead up. Usually, this is a time where just about anything goes, given this is one of WWE’s biggest ‘gimmick’ special events.

This week’s Smackdown featured a limited WWE roster because half of the crew flew to England on Tuesday morning for the start of the annual European tour that takes place every April and November. It was as if it was the good old days of the brand extension when some people were never on Raw and only on Smackdown.
The absence of half the roster meant that the WWE Champion Seth Rollins was not there. We don’t know for sure if he’s going to be on every week, but chances are good that he will be simply because he’s a younger wrestler that’s usually is on every show. Randy Orton, the Extreme Rules opponent of Rollins, also wasn’t at the show so there wasn’t much in terms of story advancement. It also meant no Us Champion John Cena although he’s not a Smackdown regular anyway.

WWE Smackdown was taped in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday night. The show marks the return of Bray Wyatt to in-ring action and continues the build toward Extreme Rules on April 26.
The show started with a Daniel Bryan promo, in which he put over the meaning of the Intercontinental Title. He was interrupted by Bad News Barrett, who gloated about the Bull Hammer he hit last week. Sheamus then interrupted proceedings, coming out to “you look stupid” chants and really strong heat.
Sheamus and Barrett threatened to come down and beat Bryan up, but Dolph Ziggler then came out to back up the babyface. That resulted in Big Show coming out, only for Roman Reigns to enter and even up the sides again. This set up the main event for later.
The first match was Tyson Kidd and Cesaro versus New Day, with Kidd and Cesaro picking up the victory.

The WWE Title match for Extreme Rules was set following the main event of this week’s edition of Raw. When Randy Orton defeated Ryback and Roman Reigns in a triple threat match he earned the opportunity to challenge WWE Champion Seth Rollins for the title in Chicago on April 26.
Orton’s win was no surprise. The announcement was expected to take place since Orton defeated Rollins in a singles match at WrestleMania, just hours before Rollins won the WWE Title in the main event of WrestleMania. That’s typical wrestling booking where a guy beats a champion in a match before the champion wins the title because that makes the champion look vulnerable and makes it look like the challenger could beat the champion for the title.

One of the most shocking moments of WWE television in the last year was when Seth Rollins turned on his Shield brethren, and by selling them out and buying into the Authority he brought to a screeching halt one of the best factions in the sports entertainment company’s history.
When Rollins attacked Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose with a chair the night after the trio had scored a decisive victory over Evolution at the Payback PPV, the ripple effect it sent through the WWE Universe was felt almost as sharply as when Brock Lesnar ended the Undertaker’s streak at Wrestlemania XXX a couple of months earlier.
Thankfully those of us who were big fans of The Shield can now revisit their year and a half dominance of the WWE Universe by way of the new Destruction of the Shield Blu-ray collection.

A good finisher is vital to becoming a success in wrestling. Can you imagine Jake Roberts without the Ddt, or Shawn Michaels without Sweet Chin Music or Stone Cold without the stunner?
Having a good finisher gives you something to build towards and tease throughout a match, they can be used for storylines and have many, many other uses. But what makes a good finisher? Well, if you want to work on top, you better be able to use your finisher on everyone from The Big Show to Hornswoggle. The best finishers should be able to be hit on anyone. It should be impactful and relatively easy to execute.
It is also important that your finish can be used in various scenarios. Being able to hit your finish out of midair, off the top rope or as a counter to another move can make a match just that...

One of the great moments 2014 Raw moments came with the last episode of 2014. Daniel Bryan came out to talk about how 2014 was amazing with his Wrestlemania moment and his marriage to Brie, but yet sad with the loss of his father and the injuries that have kept him out for most of the year. While at first it seemed like Daniel Bryan was going to sadly announce his retirement, he quickly answered the question that has been on all of our minds for months now. He will finally return at the 2015 Royal Rumble.
While it would have been a better moment to just shock us all with a surprise entrant into the Rumble match, it is still great news to hear that Bryan will be returning to action in the WWE. In the Steve Austin Show on PodcastOne this week, Steve talked with Pro Wrestling Torch’s Wade Keller,...

As of this writing, Rusev is an undefeated monster representing the Russian Federation in a classic ‘USA vs. evil foreigner’ storyline. So far he has vanquished the All American Jack Swagger, conquered the World’s Strongest Man Mark Henry, and now looks to be hell-bent on beating the Big Show.
On the other side of things, we have Dolph Ziggler, is the WWE Intercontinental Champion and an athlete that is beloved by many, who has had to deal with delays in his climb to the top of the mountain, as well as constant struggles to find his spot on Raw .
So what would happen if the undefeated monster that is Rusev, clashed with the never-say-die determined hero that is Dolph Ziggler? WWE would have a license to print money, that’s what.
The following article is what can be described as ‘fantasy booking’. It is a proposed storyline...

When you see WWE superstars tweeting about watching WWE Network, it’s because they probably love being able to watch their work easily on WWE Network just like we can. However, privately they are probably very upset about the fact that the addition of WWE Network has hurt their bank accounts.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, payoffs are in for the first Pay-Per-View events after WrestleMania 30 with the new formula and they were described as being really bad. Earlier this year that the payoffs for WrestleMania XXX ended up being way better than what was expected by the talents likely because of international buys as well as American fans that were hesitant in terms of getting WWE Network. Many believed that the WWE Network launch would hurt WrestleMania bonuses, but that apparently was not the case.

With the announcement that the main event at Night of Champions will feature a rematch between newly crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and John Cena, fans worldwide responded with a collective groan of indifference. Coming off Lesnar’s brutal beatdown of Cena at SummerSlam, it doesn’t feel like a rematch is warranted. That was as decisive of a victory in a title match that we’ve seen in modern WWE.
Night of Champions is a very important show. It takes place during the renewal period for the initial Network subscribers, and if the company wishes to entice those people to re-up a second time, they’re going to have to deliver something monumental. Since we will have just seen this match a few weeks prior, they’re going to need to turn it into a spectacle for the fans to be willing to lock in for another six month commitment.

He’s a beast. Actually, scrub that. He’s The Beast. He’s 6ft 3in and weighs 286lbs. His in-ring style when he debuted was a combination of technical mat wrestling and brute force. Since coming back to the WWE that style has been refined to include Mma elements and his comeback bout against John Cena in 2012 at Extreme Rules was one of the best matches in recent years because it was so different.
Brock Lesnar has always been money. Ufc probably won’t see his like again. Even for the Mma fans that hated a professional wrestler joining their ranks, he brought publicity and money like no other fighter. His re-match against Frank Mir was a revenge attack of the highest order and was simply a ‘real life’ demonstration of what he’d been doing in the WWE for years. Decimating opponents and leaving them bloodied and beaten.

This Sunday night WWE presents SummerSlam in Los Angeles and there’s a lot of anticipation for the event. They’ve already announced the eight matches for the show, which is rare for WWE. Usually we know four or five matches and then they add a few more in the last week. It’s nice to know they’re more prepared this month. They’re unlikely to add more to it although perhaps one more will be added for the Kickoff Show.
What we want to know is what match are you most excited about at SummerSlam? The cool thing about the lineup is that WWE is offering up a variety of matches. A few of the matches have stipulations on them, there are two divas matches on the card (that’s pretty rare) and the main event features two guys who weren’t even on Raw at...
