Credit where credit is due
Lee, a senior comic who has honed his craft over decades, deserves props. His style is one-of-a-kind, without equal, and audiences love it. Carlin did observational humor, Rickles attacked his audiences "ad hominem," Williams/Winters attacked their topics in a mad frenzy, Catskills comics told long stories with short punchlines, Cosby turned "remembering" into an artform, and Youngman perfected the "one-liners," the shortest jokes on record. Lee is often referred to as a "repetitive" comic, but that label is unfair. He deconstructs his own material and, astonishingly, fully engages his audience while so doing. This unique form of comedy -- which takes perfect timing and massive cohones -- is showcased here, and it works a treat. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer."
