The petite and beautiful Amyra Dastur, who made her Bollywood debut with the forgettable Issaq and was last seen in the Emraan Hashmi starrer Mr.X, is reportedly now in seventh heaven these days. The reason? If Bollywood Hungama's sources are to be believed, then, the soft spoken and gracious Amyra Dastur has just bagged a Hollywood project in her kitty. Our source added that, the film in question is the Jackie Chan starrer Kung Fu Yoga. It is the same role that was previously supposed to be done by Ileana D'Cruz, who, for reasons best known to her, is no longer doing the film. Our source also added that there were many contenders for the role but Amyra was the best fit for the role. Besides Jackie Chan and Amyra Dastur, Kung Fu Yoga stars our very own desi munda Sonu Sood.

Actor Prashantt Guptha (formerly known as Prashaant Kumar) was last seen as the anti-hero in Jayantilal Gada and Shailesh Singh’s Hindi adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, Issaq. Though the film didn’t fare as well as the other Hit adaptation that followed, Ram-Leela, quite a few in the industry took note of this newcomer’s performance. Much to the amusement of many a viewers was the fact that this young actor, who was born and raised in New York and otherwise maintains the ‘chocolate-boy next door’ kind of look, could mould himself flawlessly into a hardcore grey-shaded Banarasi cop. Post Issaq, he bagged two films in a principal role, Identity Card and 6-5=2.
In Rahat Kazmi’s Identity Card, Prashantt plays a Kashmiri cop along with Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Raghubir Yadav and Brijendra Kala. The film is a Dark-Comedy and highlights the importance of an identity card in Kashmir...

Even though Prateik made a splash in Bollywood with his debut film, a few wrong choices of films saw his career going nowhere. Post the debacle of his last film Issaq, he went totally missing from the Bollywood scene. Well, the good news that he will now be seen debuting in a Bengali film Arani Takhan, which is being directed by the debutante Sourav Chakraborty, the same man who had assisted Ashutosh Gowariker in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se. Talking about the film, Sourav said that the film's a journey of love between the time when Babri Masjid was demolished (1992) and the infamous Gujarat riots (2002). He added that while Prateik's character is neither positive nor negative, the film will show the transformation in him because of the aforementioned two highly sensitive incidents. While the film will be shot in Kolkatta, Mumbai and Gujarat, the film is expected to roll during the end of May.

In her debut in Issaq with Prateik Babbar, this young actress certainly made a great impression and it has only gotten better. Last year, Evelyn Sharma, the 23-year-old half-German half-Indian supermodel-turned-actress, was seen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani as the bubbly and maybe a bit ditsy Lara romancing Ranbir Kapoor. The lovely lady has not stopped and will be seen in a starring role in Yaariyan, in theaters now. If you can believe it, this is her fifth release in just a year! Yaariyan is the directorial debut of Divya Khosla Kumar that also stars a set of newcomers including Himansh Kohli. About the story of the film, Kumar said in a recent interview with Ht, “To put it simply, the film is about the youth and their feelings and emotions while growing up. It can be described as the journey of how boys turn into men.”

Just when you think you have seen it all, there comes a film that reminds you of how far the cinematic medium has come…And how far it can go in the right hands. And let’s face it. Bhansali is Bhansali. His visual imagery in all his earlier films from Khamoshi: The Musical to Guzaarish is comparable with the best art from any field of aesthetics.
You could say Bhansali’s cinema is the visual equivalent of Lata Mangeshkar’s singing. And you wouldn’t be wrong.
In terms of its free-flowing unmeasured operatic opulence Ram-Leela (with or without the censorial pre-fix) comes closest to the giddy high-pitched and yet miraculously controlled tempo and tenor of Bhansali’s Devdas. That too was a steeply sensuous cinematic adaptation from a literary source. Ram Leela goes to Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet...

"When I signed the film, I didn't know Dhanush was my co-star. I was drawn by the story and my character in particular. However, later when I was told Dhanush has been roped in, I felt happy that I will be working with a talented actor," Amyra told Ians.

2013 has been a brilliant year for composers Sachin and Jigar, with the rollicking Abcd, the trippy Go Goa Gone, and their additions to the Issaq and Ramaiya Vastavaiya displayed their versatility and growing confidence. However, their big ticket looks to be Yashraj’s Shuddh Desi Romance, which is Maneesh Sharma’s third feature after his smash Band Baaja Baaraat and Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl and teams up with Chak De India writer Jaideep Sahni. The film looks at modern relationships tackling topics of commitment and attraction with Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra, and newcomer Vaani Kapoor in the lead. The album is an enjoyable and fun ride that doesn’t curb Sachin-Jigar’s sound despite such a big banner and the pressure to deliver.

When asked how is Neil as a co-star in "Rum Pum Posshh", Prateik said: "He was (in the film), but he is no longer in the film."

Mumbai, Aug 21: For actor Prateik, six-pack abs is a way of life and he follows Hollywood action legends Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to stay fit.
"Six-pack is a way of life for me, like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The gym was their home. They are my favourite musclemen and I follow their style and techniques," the 26-year-old said here Tuesday at the relaunch of a branch of Gold Gym.
In Bollywood, it is superstar Salman Khan he idolises.

New Delhi, Aug 21: He has tasted both success and failure and Prateik, currently busy with producer Shailesh Singh's psychological thriller "Rum Pum Posh", believes in giving his best to his craft without worrying about box office numbers.
"I believe in working hard and giving my best shot. My films do well at the box office or no, that's not in my hands. I always take criticism in a positive way and try to give my best," Prateik, best known for films like "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na" (2008) and "Dhobi Ghat" (2011), told Ians.
His previous films like "My Friend Pinto" (2011) and "Ekk Deewana Tha" (2012) were not a big success and his last release, director Manish Tiwary's "Issaq", a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's.

Mumbai, Aug 5: Actor Prateik, whose gently intense performance in "Issaq" has received rave reviews from some critics and been savaged by some others, has found an unlikely ally -- as well as mentor and advisor -- in Ravi Kishan, who plays a pivotal role in the film.
Ravi, who plays a powerful role in "Issaq", chose to be very vocal against negative reviews to the film, which is director Manish Tiwary's rugged adaptation of "Romeo & Juliet".
"Not liking a film is every critic's right and prerogative. Please feel free to dislike our film by all means. But why these personal comments? Why hit out at Prateik just because.

It was a largely unimpressive weekend at the box office for Bollywood films with none of the four new releases managing to do find much of an audience. Though one didn’t really expect terrific opening numbers from Bajatey Raho, Nasha, Issaq or Luv U Soniyo, it was expected that at least a couple of these would gather steam post their release. However this wasn’t really the case and the collections stayed largely on the lower side.
Bajatey Raho enjoyed the widest release of them all and also the best of the reviews, albeit on a comparative note. The word of mouth was ‘theek-thaak’ too for this ensemble affair which managed to hold audience interest for its quick fire 100 minutes duration. However the opening day was below ordinary and the pick up over the next two days was average too, hence resulting in a weekend of close to 5 crore.

The most popular albeit tragic love story never fails to get the filmmakers’ interest. This week the age old Shakespearean saga gets rendered onscreen once again by Manish Tiwary as Issaq . Manish, who had quite impressed us with his Dil Dosti etc, brings to us a desi, bloodshed filled love story of Rahul and Bachi (aka Romeo and Juliet) from the land of Benaras.
The story outline is pretty much the same with the Montagues and Capulets being replaced by the Mishras and Kashyaps warring on the holy banks of the Ganges. The two families, sworn enemies, need no reason to pull the trigger at one another. Amidst all this animosity, Rahul (Prateik Babbar) and Bachi (Amyra Dastur) fall in love with each other – a love story amidst the fight for power with tragedy written all over it.
The bigger tragedy however, is the disaster spun in the name of adaption of a classic.

An avalanche of movies is arriving on screens this weekend, what with as many as four notable releases in the anvil. Primarily word of mouth films, one expects a better start in the multiplexes for Bajatey Raho whereas Nasha should open better in the single screens. As for Issaq, it does look like an interesting film and good reviews coupled with quick word of mouth from audience could give it a chance at the box office. Between these three films, Bajatey Raho has been the most visible of the lot and since it is backed by a premium production house (Eros’ Raanjhanaa is still running in theaters), the release would be widespread as well. A comedy, it could well be a Chalo Dilli moment for director Shashant Shah since the Vinay Pathak-Lara Dutta starrer too had released amidst as many as six films and still emerged victorious.
