Jimmy Collins : I need to talk to you.
Karen Cartwright : Yeah, I need to talk to you, too.
Jimmy Collins : Yeah, I... I know I haven't been very honest with you, it's... it's just... it's hard for me... to admit the things I have done in my life.
Karen Cartwright : You have until the curtain goes up to tell me about your brother, or I'm gone.
Jimmy Collins : What...? How do you... how do you know about Adam?
Karen Cartwright : Through Ana. And I'm warning you, he's already done a lot of talking,
[Jimmy scoffs]
Karen Cartwright : but I wanna hear it from you. No more lies.
Jimmy Collins : Oh, what, let me guess. He's made me out to be some bad guy.
Karen Cartwright : Well, was he lying?
[scoffs as Jimmy hesitates]
Karen Cartwright : Fine. Forget it.
[moves past him]
-
Karen Cartwright : [when Jimmy wants to confront Adam] Hey. It took a lot of courage to tell me what you've told me tonight, but it was just talk. So if you've changed... Prove it, all right?
-
Ivy Lynn : I've... actually been thinking about you a lot lately... because I can't stop comparing myself to you.
[shakes her head]
Ivy Lynn : All those reviewers loved you in Boston.
Karen Cartwright : Well, they're gonna love you too.
Ivy Lynn : You don't know that.
Karen Cartwright : Yeah, I do. Ivy... no one could have been better than you tonight. Not me, not anyone, not even Marilyn Monroe herself.
[sighs]
Karen Cartwright : I was so jealous of you tonight. I almost left at intermission.
[scoffs]
Ivy Lynn : Why didn't you?
Karen Cartwright : 'Cause I... I wanted to watch you... sing Don't Forget Me.
Ivy Lynn : Wait. You were jealous?
Karen Cartwright : [laughs] Don't rub it in.
Ivy Lynn : [laughs] The magical Karen Cartwright? You do some tiny show at the Fringe Festival, and suddenly it's the can't-miss event of the season.
[chuckles]
Ivy Lynn : It took me eight Broadway shows to get here.
Karen Cartwright : Yeah, well, I haven't done one yet, so...
Ivy Lynn : Well, you will. Just not this season, okay?
Karen Cartwright : [chuckles] Okay. Deal.
