Gertha tries to convince Marga to rethink her decision about taking part in the baby making scheme, Harry adapts to life in Egypt pretty quickly, his platoon face The Italians. Robina receives an unexpected visitor at the door.
I thought this was a more cohesive episode, the first felt a little unsettled somehow, this second is altogether more grounded.
More and more is coming back to me now, I had forgotten about the resistance fighter in France, an interesting diversion from the main body of the story.
It's not afraid to take out the characters, such is the nature of war I guess.
Marga's story was totally and utterly sickening, one of the most shocking moments on the show so far, that scene where her and Gertha go to speak the teacher, that was shocking.
The visuals are striking once again, from the scenes in Egypt to the war torn streets of old Blighty, very well made drama.
Ahad Raza Mir is coming across incredibly well, what a charismatic actor he is. Mark Bonnar was a great but of casting, I'm sure he's going to cause mayhem for Robina.
8/10.
