In this roundup from the Encore and Mumbrella Annual, we present the year’s biggest TV flops.
1. Everybody Dance Now
Rumoured to have cost in excess of $10m, Everybody Dance Now was the biggest flop of 2012. From host Sarah Murdoch’s stiff delivery to the flawed format, the show was a write off from episode one. Ten were keen to turn it around, shortening the episodes and rejigging the show’s structure, but not even Murdoch’s pleas on Twitter to get the public to give it another shot were enough to save this disaster.
2. Bikie Wars
From the producers of Underbelly, Bikie Wars should have delivered. Instead it gave us bad wigs, bad acting and was a poor man’s Sons of Anarchy.
3. I Will Survive
How could a talent show with the ultimate goal being to play the part of a drag queen in a stage show possibly be a ratings bomb?...

Fly-on-the-wall documentary Being Lara Bingle claimed ratings of 768,000 last night, according to Network Ten, a potential sign that the show has found its footing.
The Ten show about blonde model and socialite Lara Bingle, which debuted mid-June with ratings of 925,000, has slid since, down to its lowest point of 650,000 mid-July.
But the program, which aired last night at 8pm, has staged something of a recovery to move back passed 700,000 after a period of decline.
Last night’s rating was an increase of 12% on last week, peaking at 932,000.
MasterChef, which aired before Bingle at 7pm, won the night with 1.54m, and topped every age demographic.
MasterChef won one of seven shows to eclipse 1m viewers. Winners & Losers on Seven was the only other non-news show to pass 1m.
The Us version of song contest The Voice has recovered too for Nine, up from 484,000 on Monday night, to 544,000 last night.

Air New Zealand has upped the stakes with its Kiwi Sceptics brand funded content campaign, featuring model Lara Bingle, who previously fronted Tourism Australia’s infamous Where The Bloody hell Are You campaign.
The work has already generated significant PR coverage in today’s metro titles and the trip will feature in next week’s episode of Ten’s Being Lara Bingle, which Air Nz is the airline sponsor of. As well as online, it will also run in cinemas and print.
The Kiwi Sceptics project – created by Host – takes people who would not otherwise go to New Zealand and shows them experiences that change their mind. The first four Kiwi Sceptics episodes launched in February. It picked up a bronze Lion for branded content at Cannes in June.
The episode was voiced by Flight Of The Conchords’ Rhys Darby.
