The film consists entirely of shots taken from other films. During the three years of its development many versions were made, the latest uses scenes from 450 different movies and TV series.
The creators had a rule to only include maximum of 2 films from the same director. However, director György Pálfi is such a big fan of David Lynch's work that he decided to break his own rule and used more than 2 films of his.
30% of the films featured are Hungarian. About 40% of them are American.
Director György Pálfi said at the last Budapest screening of the film: "We came from torrent, we go back to torrent." He referred to how they got hold of most clips used in the movie via peer-to-peer file sharing, and how the film itself will become available to the public.
So that it could be screened despite the copyright issues, the film has been declared to be educational material at the Hungarian University of Film and Theatre as well as at EöTVös Loránd University. For similar reasons the DVD and downloadable HD versions are available only as free attachments to scholar Balázs Varga's book about the film.
