Alex Barclay who plays Martin wore the neck collar at all times. Not only did this restrict his movements in character, but it helped to ensure that there would be realistic redness and skin impressions when it was removed at a certain point in the story.
There were five stages of make up and prosthetics in this 10 minute film all of which were tested and timed for scheduling purposes.
The script won the Prequel to Cannes Short Film Award (2010) and the finished film was shortlisted for two Van d'Or Awards (2012) in the Best Drama and Best Script categories.
It was nominated for Excellence in Hair & Make Up, and for Best Short Script in the Southampton International Film Festival 2013.
