- Castaways jump off the deep end in an Immunity Challenge that requires a delicate balance. Meanwhile, a group of misfits band together, finding an unlikely leader.
- Previously on 'Survivor': The 18 men and women who arrived on the island were split into tribes of men vs. women, and placed at the same beach. The women were a bit dysfunctional. Alliances came together on both tribes quickly. Sabrina found an idol that was specifically to be given to someone on the other tribe, which she gave to Colton. The immunity challenge was cut short and the women lost when Kourtney was injured. She ended up dropping out of the game, meaning no one was voted out.
Salani: The ladies return to their camp and spill the news about Kourntey dropping out after Michael tells them he took care of their fire while they were gone. Kat is annoyed, saying she would have reignited it anyway.
Christina pulls Alicia aside in an effort to clear the air after an intense Tribal Council. Alicia tells us she's happy with the way it went because it exposed Christina as crazy and a liar. Alicia shakes Christina's hand, but tells us she wouldn't save Christina if she saw her drowning in the ocean.
The next morning, Sabrina tries to set some ground rules about how things should go, and a few members say she should be the tribe's leader. She assigns roles for water, food and shelter. Nina notices it's "the five younger girls" -- Kim, Sabrina, Chelsea, Kat and Alicia -- against her, Christina and Monica. NIna says "there's a definite immaturity factor" going on in the tribe. Meanwhile, Kat and Alicia go take a dip in the ocean and think they're going to get in trouble for not doing anything.
The girls find Tree Mail first, and there are two large boxes that can't be opened until they're taken to a neutral location and members of both tribes are present.
Reward challenge: It's a "do-it-yourself" reward challenge in which the two tribes have to undo a whole bunch of knots in a braided rope. The reward is a tarp that will protect them from the rain. The guys win. Sabrina is bummed.
The guys are pumped and get back to camp and unfurl their new tarp. They begin building their shelter while Colton sits around doing nothing. The guys are worried that Colton is in too comfortably with the girls.
In fact, we next see him over helping the girls build their shelter. Colton says it's a relief when he's over with the girls and has nothing in common with the guys.
Soon enough, the girls get kind of tired of having Colton around. Sabrina finally asks him why he's there, and the girls ask him to leave. Colton asks if he can come hang out again later. Colton decides he has to go build himself a little hut and give himself his own place.
Later in the day, he's back and wants to talk to the girls -- all of them. Sabrina tells us he's a drama queen. Colton makes a speech and says he doesn't care about the game or strategy, he just feels like he doesn't have anyone he can talk to on the island. Sabrina tells us "the more he comes over, the more he becomes a jerk, minute by minute."
The girls try to explain to him that they can't have him over there all the time.
That night at the guys' camp, Colton unveils the immunity idol to Troyzan, Jonas and a couple of others, and they decide they have to get "the muscle" out -- meaning Matt or Michael.
Immunity challenge: The tribes will line up side by side on a narrow balance beam. The person on the farthest end has to make their way across the beam, passing all their tribe mates on the way. The girls have serious issues accomplishing the task. Christina first keeps the breaking the rules (you can't touch more than one person at a time), and Kat keeps jumping into the water for no reason. The men win easily.
Nina is frustrated with "no communication, no teamwork, same old story." Monica tells us she's "sad" and "embarrassed" for women.
Back at camp, Kat apologizes to her tribe for "having horrible communication skills." Sabrina says Kat's energy needs to be channeled. Sabrina thinks Nina "is like the walking dead" and says her head is on the chopping block.
Nina is upset and tells us she doesn't understand why everyone is trying to make Kat feel better.
Nina talks quietly to Chelsea about writing down Kat's name. Chelsea then pulls Kim aside and they discuss voting Kat out.
Tribal Council: Jeff tells the girls are "off to one of the worst starts ever in this game" because of their dysfunction. Kim says she hasn't found the place for her voice.
Nina bluntly states they're a "divided tribe" and she names the five and the remaining three. She identifies her own skills, noting her background as a police officer in L.A. for 13 years and being able to be physical and handle pressure. She then asks directly what Kat brings to the tribe. Kat says she's "outdoors" and does sales and works with people all the time. Jeff gives her an out, calling out how young she is, and Kat says she's young and has never done anything like this. Nina interrupts and says, "I'm old and I've never done this, either." Kat says she's doing the best she can and letting her tribe down at the challenge was "the worst feeling in the world."
Kim says Nina and Kat are the two people whose fates are being weighed.
Chelsea and Sabrina both agree that if they could start over, they'd probably start different alliances.
Kat gets emotional when she again admits the loss in the challenge was her fault. She says she's never failed at anything, because she rarely tries things she doesn't think she can succeed at. Kat agrees it would be fair if her tribe votes her out.
Kat suggests that Christina is just there for the heck of it and doesn't really want to play the game.
Kat writes down Nina's name, saying she's a strong competitor, but she would never throw her under the bus the way NIna did her.
Nina returns the favor and says it's "just time" for Kat to leave.
The vote: Nina, Kat, Christina, Nina, Nina, and the second person out is Nina.
Nina's last words: "I think the tribe made a huge mistake by voting me out instead of Kat. ... Whether or not the other people know it, she's destroying the tribe and she should've gone home tonight. I wish the gals a lot of luck, but I think they're in deep trouble. I think the guys are going to take them out, piece by piece."
