The scenes where the gang floats on a boat hoping to snag baseballs being hit out of the park references Oracle Park, the home field for the San Francisco Giants. Beyond right field is McCovey Cove, named after first baseman and slugger Willie McCovey (1938-2018). This is where fans gather in boats hoping to get a "splash hit". In 22 years, as of 2 September 2022, there have been 96 "splash hits". The only other park that has a similar feature where balls may be hit out of the stadium and into water is PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where batters have been known to hit balls out of the park and into the Allegheny River.
