- There are three instances of characters getting shot- all at close range and one that focuses on the bloody wound, which is quite extreme. Two characters engage in a very brutal and desperate fight that involves knee and elbow strikes as well as punches and kicks. One character attempts to strangle another with a garden hose. A character cuts a man's throat with a box cutter knife.

- Burnett and Lowrey swear occasionally ("S**t, F**k", etc.) during their discussion in the scene where they are setting up on their target in the car. Later on during the shoot- out and the hand to hand fight there a a few more shouted swearwords (including "C**t").

- At the beginning of the film, the character Burnett (who is trying to quit smoking) takes out a cigarette and is about to light it before reconsidering it and throwing it away. Later on he admits to regularly drinking and driving and another character calls him an alcoholic.

- After shooting the first victim in the film's pre- title sequence, Burnett experiences a brief but intense flashback to a previous target he also killed.
