Good Interview with Cunningham
The Man Behind the Legacy: Sean S. Cunningham (2009)
*** (out of 4)
Ten-minute featurette takes a look at Sean S. Cunningham, the creator of the original Friday THE 13TH. The interview tackles a wide range of subjects but Cunningham makes it clear that he doesn't like looking back on the past but goes on to add that he's never been ashamed of the series, its success or anything connected to it. He talks about not having too much memorabilia from the movie but he does have and show a poster that Adrienne King made for him. Speaking about the film he says he's most proud of the way they were able to work with the budget and deliver the most that they could. He also talks about the need for sequels and why the series has lived on for so many years. Sean's son Noel is also on camera for a few quick comments. If you're a fan of the film then you're not going to hear anything here that you haven't heard countless times before. However, most fans of the series are die-hards so they probably don't mind hearing the same stuff over and over. I know I don't mind so this featurette is certainly entertaining enough for what it is.
