Ratchet up the tension to excruciating.

Prepare to get your heart broke, prepare to get really ticked off and prepare to look forward to the next episodes. If you haven't seen it yet: do so as soon as possible. This is tension creating at its best. If you have seen it: you know what I'm talking about, it's painful yet like a horrific car wreck you can't help but look and be terribly haunted and disturbed by what you see. This is the episode, filled with many shocking and decidedly unpleasant twists, that finally pushed this series into the "great" category (one I reserve for very few). I can now forgive its sometime contrived moments in the past. Enjoy, this is turning into a real barn burner.

Great Episode

Warning: Spoilers
This Episode was one of the best. Hitchcock taught us that sometimes its better not to show things, it makes em much more scarier. Not to show Owens death and see him dead only when Margarete does, was a great decision from the Writers.

I don't know why this Episode doesn't have a much higher rating. It really impressed me. So brutal that I couldn't watch.

Finally we see the ugly truth of the mob business. Till now, as ugly as it was, I felt we saw a little too much romanticism of the 20s Gangsters.

I already would say that the 3rd season is better than the 2nd.

Show not tell.

One of very few show's to make my heart ache for a character death and Owen's in particular striked me harder than Jimmy in ways due to the decision to shock the audience rather than its usual tell the viewer before the character thing. An amazing episode , a truly riveting season of television. Almost as good a standalone as S2s Finale.

Boardwalk Empire A Man, a Plan...

Warning: Spoilers
Richard is at the beach and out of no where people go to the water because bottles of whiskey start to show up in the water. Everyone runs into the ocean for the whiskey. It was Gyp's liquor that was spilled in the ocean and he has lost a lot of profit. Nucky gets a call at the office saying he must pay to keep his name off a list. Before Owen leaves to work he brings up marriage as a way to get Katie to be quiet. Margaret and Owen are going through with their plan to leave even planning who will leave first as to not cause suspicion. Margaret goes to the hospital and wants to be left alone by her bodyguard. Margaret is told that her classes cannot run anymore because the pope is not allowing it anymore. The doctor gives Margaret what she asked before after the nun left. Van Aldean returns back to the bar and he has a gun to his head in a second. When Richard is insulted he attacks even pulling of his mask the frighten the man. Lucky makes a deal with some new person. Gyp meets with the boat people and they tell him he will never lose his product again. Margaret sings her kids to sleep then answering questions about how long they will be staying in this little apartment. While talking about their lives Richard and Julia kiss on the beach. Chucky comes to talk to Nucky about making a Negro club. Nucky says no to his idea making him leave. Van Alden is brought to Al Capone to talk. When Nelson goes off speaking he is made to talk after a fork is almost stuck into his face. Jess finds someone to murder him and starts to cry before he shoots himself in the head. Nucky comes in to apologize to Margaret for putting her through this event. Gyp gets all his alcohol and he talks to the man in the sand buried up to his head. Instead of getting the man out of the sand he smashes his head with a shovel. Nucky is woken up in the middle of the night. He gets a box with Owen's body inside. Margaret sees it and goes crazy at Nucky for allowing it to happen. With Owen dead we see a flashback of Margaret telling Owen she was pregnant with his baby. I was not expecting the end to Owen but Kelly's reaction was pure and her best acting on the show.

EPISODE GRADE: B+ (MVP: Kelly MacDonald)
