- Cliff is in the mansion garage working on his car, and Jane wakes up nearby, startling him. She says that she had a dream of all of them, including Willoughby, deaging and then going to a pool party. Cliff tells her that it was all real but he's been big for all hours while Jane turned into a baby. They figure that Willoughby reversed the spell, but Jane has gotten some grey hairs from aging too much.
Jane checks herself in a rearview mirror, and figures that Willoughby and Bunbury double-crossed them, and Immortus is going to destroy reality with their longevity. She wonders where the others are, and Cliff says he's too busy working on his car to help. Cliff apologies for leaving her at the pool, but explains that once he went back to normal he came back for Jane and found her outside the pool center as a baby. He tells Jane that as someone who has been staring death in the face, he's learned to take every second he has left to do what he figures he has to. Cliff goes back to working on his car, and Jane goes off on her own.
The face on the oven mitt on Cliff's right hand talks to him, saying that it's just Rory.
Vic is back to his normal age, and Deric is driving him through the countryside. Vic assures his friend that he'll pay him back for his clothes when he gets some money. Deric asks why Vic came to him, and Vic says that it was a weird day even for him.
Jane goes to the Underground and tells the personas that she needs to talk to Kay and things are fucked. They're all working on the puzzle, and Pretty Polly says that Kay gave all of them puzzles to work on. When Jane points out that the girl wanted trauma, the personas tell Jane to take her comment back because they're not the same. Jane refuses to give up, and says that she's going to go out with a bang.
At the bus station, Rogue brings the restored Rita some coffee. Rita ids an adult, and explains that somehow the deaging spell was reversed. Rita tells Rogue that now she just wants to lie down. Rogue tells Rita that they'll get her longevity back and save the universe in the process, and figures that someone in the Bureau picked up with the Immortus Project where Niles left off. They need to go back to the Bureau. She convinces Rita that they're heroes and they should help their friends, she'd rather not be team leader, and asks Rita what the plan is.
The Scissorman lead Larry through Orqwith, and Keeg remains silent. Rama runs up and tells the Scissormen to release Larry, and he'll take him to the Scaraium himself. When they ignore Rama, he uses his elemental powers to freeze them. Rama leads Larry off and says that they need to cut a portal back to Earth, and explains that they're in a pocket dimension. The Scissormen are Immortus' mindless custodians. Immortus sent the Scissormen because Rama was taking too long bringing Larry there to extract his longevity. Larry demands an explanation, and Rama says that Immortus found each of them and gave them hope that they could have what they most desired. He figures that Immortus has the power, and Orqwith was created when Janus deposited Rita's longevity. However, Rama figures that the rest of them in their zeal have forgotten the plan wasn't to hurt anyone. He reminds Larry that Larry said he would find another way to stabilize his molecules, and Larry assures him that he means to keep his promise on they stop Immortus. He tells Rama that he can put his faith in him, and Rams tells Larry that he has his faith. He the cuts a portal back to the mansion's kitchen.
The mitt reminds Cliff that Immortus is a threat, but Cliff refuses to listen to the manifestation of his mind suffering from Parkinson's. He tells the mitt that he's working on the car for the real Rory, but the mitt points out that Cliff really cared about Rory, he'd be on a bus to Florida, and Cliff's father also used to bury his fear in something he thought he could control. Cliff wants to prove he can create more than pain. Mitt takes Cliff to the kitchen and shows him the zombie butt in the freezer, and points out that only a good person would have saved it. Cliff admits that saving it might not have been a good idea, but Mitt insists it proves that Cliff is a good person. The gateway appears in the kitchen,
In the candy shop, Shelley is icing a cake when Jane comes in. They sit down together and Jane says that she's been doing a lot of thinking about Shelley. Shelley says that she's been thinking a lot about Jane, and Jane says that she's decided to stop living for other people and for herself instead. Shelley asks Jane what she wants, and when Jane hesitates tells her they should take their time. Jane says that she's ready and has wanted it for a long time, leans over, but hesitates to kiss Shelley. She draws back and wonders why she can't do it, and Shelley tells her that it's okay. Shelley suggests that Jane get real help, but Jane tells she doesn't have time for that and she's tired of fighting. When Shelly tells Jane that she doesn't deserve all the pain, Jane walks out and returns to her room at the mansion where the puzzle pieces are piled on the floor, and mutters that she's not ready to die.
Larry and Rama emerge from the portal, and Larry assures Cliff that they can trust Rama. Cliff figures that he senses sexual tension between them, and Rama hastily says that he's there to help them, and that Immortus' agents will stop at nothing to get Cliff's and Jane's longevity. Cliff tells him that they already got Jane's, and Larry figures that he and Cliff are the last two and they have to stop it before it's too late.
Keeg knocks Larry back through the still-open portal, and Rama leaps in after Larry. Keeg knocks Cliff back when he tries to follow, then goes through the portal.
At the Ant Farm, Rogue and Rita sneak in disguised as a janitor and his mop bucket. They steal a security card and break into the records department where dangerous project records were mothballed, revert back to their normal forms. Most of Niles' initiatives ended up in the "Vineyard", and the Immortus Project is one of them. It was last checked out in 1955 by Asset #34771. Rogue wants to go, and Rita asks her why she's suddenly reluctant. Rogue says that it's Wally Sage, and Rita remembers he was one of the Bureau recruits in 1919. When Rogue points out that it all started with Wally, and she put Wally there so it's all happening because of her. Rita assures Rogue that it's not her fault, and says that Rogue isn't going to crack on her now. Taking Rogue's hand, Rita insists that they're going to stop it and if that means confronting their pasts, they'll do it. Rita says that she's the leader so Rogue has to do what she says, and tells Rogue to take them to Wally's cell. Rogue agrees.
Vic and Derick arrive at the manor and find the open portal, and Cliff knocked back. Touching the portal, Vic figures that Larry's in trouble and he to go through to help. He tells Deric to go home then goes through the portal, and Derick grabs a kitchen knife and goes after his friend. Deric arrives in Orqwith with Vic, and the portal closes behind him. Deric points out that Vic isn't a superhero anymore, and Vic has no choice but to take Deric with him.
Rogue and Rita switch back to their disguises and go to Wally's cell, and find drawings and "Orqwith" and "Immortus Will Rise" on the walls. Rita senses a darkness there, and finds a drawing of Malcolm. Wally is in an adjacent cell, and greets them.
As they continue, Vic tells Deric that he doesn't know if he can protect, and it's different for him because he signed up for it. Deric tells Vic that Vic came to his apartment because Vic knows that Deric has his back no matter what. Vic apologizes to Deric for never meeting him halfway, and Deric apologizes for putting all the blame on Vic. When Vic wishes that he could just go back in time, Deric asks him if that's why he got rid of his tech, and says that the kids in his class are inspired by Cyborg, and so is he. Vic thanks him for saying that, and they both vow to be Detroiticons forever.
Jane is laying on her bed when there's a knock at her door. Cliff asks if he can come in, and Jane tells him to do so. He apologizes for "being sucked up his own ass", and what matters is being there for the people he loves. Jane says that she doesn't know if she deserves to be love, and Cliff tells her that she can't stop anyone if they want to love her. He takes off the mitt and touches her with his new right hand for the first time, rather than Rory. Then they go off to take down Immortus and his minions.
Willoughby appears in the hallway outside the room. Jane and Cliff go out to investigate, and Willoughby tells them that Immortus took down Bunbury and the Templars, and that Bunbury took Jane's longevity to protect it from Immortus. Immortus easily tore through the Templars, and there's nothing the team can do against the godlike being. They have to get Cliff, the last one with longevity, to safety. Undeterred, Cliff and Jane go off to punch Immortus and his minions.
Deric and Vic reach the Temple and see Scissormen on patrol outside. Vic figures they have to get in to rescue Larry, and Deric find a flower made out of newsprint. He figures everything in Orqwith has a purpose, and finds a pen in the flower. Deric draws on the newsprint with the pen, creating a butterfly that comes to life, flies off, and Deric has an idea for how they can get past the Scissormen.
In the cell, Rogue tells Rita that she's not leaving Wally behind and shapeshifts her finger into a key. Rita questions Wally through the bars, and he says that Orqwith is where all ideas are born, and bad ideas die there. Rogue refuses to abandon Wally, and he says that it's too late and Immortus rises. When Rogue gets the cell door open, he says that there's so much pain and it will be over soon. Wally gets up, his face disfigured, and says every new beginning must start with an ending. Rita loses control of her body and flows into the cell, crushing Wally.
The Scissormen take Larry into the Temple, and Larry asks Keeg why he brought him there. Keeg doesn't respond, and the Scissormen put Larry on a table while the priests of Immortus hum. Larry asks Keeg why he won't stop them, and the energy being shows Larry a vision of the future it got from its parent. In the future at the mansion, the Butts overwhelm Larry. His radiation leaks through the bandages, and Keeg flies Larry into space and the Sun so he doesn't kill anyone.
Larry tells Keeg that they'll deal with the Butts like they've dealt with everything else, then accepts that the battle will never stop. Larry trusts Keeg's judgment to give their longevity to Immortus, so Immortus will safely merge them, and willingly gives up his longevity.
Deric and Vic draw Mr. Invincible, their high school robot project, larger and with more powerful tech. The ground shakes and the two men send the new and improved Invincible to take out the Scissormen.
Rita pulls herself together and Rogue tells her what happened. There are picture of Wally screaming in agony stuck on Rita's back, and Rogue pulls them off. Rita realizes that she crushed Wally, and Bureau alarms go off. Rita agrees that she and Rogue should escape.
Invincible tells the guarding Scissormen to surrender, at the same time that Cliff and Jane arrive. Cliff is wearing a keg on his right hand, and insists it's only meant for loving and he doesn't want to take a chance of it doing anything else. The Scissormen capture Vic and Deric, causing Invincible to turn back into paper.
The priests emerge from the Temple, and the head priest removes his hood revealing the other Wally Sage. He greets Cliff and two of the Scissormen put their scissors to Jane's and Cliff's necks, and lead them to Wally. Cliff figures they can handle the Scissormen after dealing with the Butts, and Mitt asks Cliff if he closed the freezer with the zombie Butt all the way. Cliff realizes that he didn't.
On Earth, the Butt thaws out and crawls out of the freezer.
